Another unbelievable story. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? A mother frantically calls 911 because she realized that she accidentally locked her baby inside her car, and dispatcher says, "They won’t be able to try to gain access [to the] car unless the child is in some kind of distress, and, well, by that point they may just smash your windows.” In the meantime, the mother is watching her child sweating and turning red as the temps reach triple temperatures. Yeah, I agree. I really don't understand why some of these dispatchers are hired. Her advice and action on this should certainly be reviewed. Not only that, if I were the mom, I would have said, "Go ahead and smash my window/s. Just PLEASE get my baby out." Police DO have a way of getting into your vehicle without having to even do that, though. I think there should be some disciplinary action taken n the way the dispatcher handled this. Had this been someone lese who called and reported a baby or small child locked in a hot car, you can bet the cops would have been there in a flash.

I'm thinking of the good old days when they used to Tar and Feather people like that..now it's a little pat on the hand with a 'Now, Now, don't do that again you naughty dispatcher"..Can't stomach much anymore.

If they are keeping this person on, then that person needs intense retraining and a supervisor to watch them closely. I was thinking why did the mom not smash the window after this call but this was a CVS parking lot and hard to find a rock nearby. I am glad someone stepped in to help her.

Not only did it blow my mind on the stupidity of the dispatcher and distressed over what the mother went through, but I also felt he should have been fired on the spot. Sad to say, they can't fix stupidity and insensitivity, no matter how much retraining the person has.

That's so true, Leeza. Ya can't fix stupid. I'm a perfect example...hahahaha I'm actually wondering how this whole thing went down. Sometimes (well, more than sometimes) it's different than what the media portrays. Did she run into the store to ask for an axe to get her baby out? She was panic stricken and probably wasn't thinking the way she normally would. I mean, we can't blame her for not having an axe on hand.

I think if the woman asked for an ax, the media would have been all over that like white on rice. You know how they love to betray people as hysterical and out of control. They would have been licking their chops over that one. I can just see the headlines now: "Woman goes berserk trying to get her baby out of the car." Oh yeah, they would have had a field day. That would have taken the attention completely off the idiotic dispatcher and put it on the " crazy woman"!!

LOL! Leeza, we can only joke about this because it didn't end in tragedy, thank God.
I remember telling one of my sisters that I could just see her in the headlines. She's allergic to some kinds of bread and she had a piece of Cougan (or Coogan) and she lived in a place called Claridon, Ohio. I told her, "Man, I can just see the headlines now! "Claridon Kook Croaks on Coogan"..she started laughing really hard and then I got real worried because she started wheezing.

I laughed out loud at the "Claridon Kook Croaks on Coogan" headlines! That is totally my kind of humor, lol! (I hope your sister caught her breath after laughing so hard.)
