In the past and even recently, I have stated that the rapture willl not happen on a special day because that is when many people think of the rapture happening. But I have changed my mind and wanted to run it by all of you for comments.
I was listening to a pastor's Easter message this morning and he did not come out and name a date but it was obvious what Feast Day he was talking about. This is a pastor I respect so it made me stop and think.
The word know stuck out to me. Even though people think it might be a special day, they do not KNOW it will happen then. SI am changing my mind on Feast Days as being a possible rapture time.
I do not normally place restrictions on the rapture as I go to bed everynight thinking that this night would be a good time for the rapture to occur.
So, I am not date setting but broadening my thinking on this topic.

I know what I am going to say is going to be unpopular, but I have always gravitated towards feast days myself. Since Jesus fulfilled the first 4 Spring feasts, it stands to reason that He would also fulfill the next 3 fall feasts. People have said that the feasts are Jewish feasts, but according to Leviticus 23:4, they are described as the "feasts of the Lord".
These are the feasts of the Lord, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times.
Note that the Word calls them, "appointed times". The Lord is very exacting, especially in numbers. An example of that is when He planned the exact day and place of the birth of Jesus. For this reason, it's hard for me to imagine that the rapture is going to be on "any old day".
I believe that the "fullness of the gentiles" described in Romans 11:25-26 could very well be on one of the Lord's feast days.
I've tried very hard to change my stance on this to look at the rapture happening at any time, but I really have trouble doing it for some reason. I just kept thinking about very exacting the Lord is about days and times, and am having trouble getting past that.

I think it can happen on an ordinary day, but to be honest, I have always been more excited when Pentecost comes around. That is the one Jewish holiday I think best applies to Christians, and I think best makes sense for the rapture to happen on. As for the other holidays, I do take note of them, but I'm not devastated when they pass by however. I never pin my hopes on the Jewish holidays - the rapture will come when it comes.

I tend to lean toward Rosh Hashanah. I think the correlation between the Jewish Wedding and the Rapture is just too great to ignore.
...I'm not horribly pedantic about that, though. "Man may make plans; the Lord decides what he will do."

So, I seem to have come to the same conclusions that all of you already had.
The Pastor I listened to (Farag) did correspond the feasts in Levitcus to events in the New Testament. I am going to go back and made notes, as I found it very interesting. But, I digress. Liz, he too felt Pentecost would be the day that made sense. But,I would be fine with Roshanah too.

Two of my favourite preachers (JD Farag & Chuck Missler) both lean toward Pentecost. While I'm happy to disagree with them on this one, I'd also be quite happy to be wrong - Pentecost is sooner Rieom, there's a series of videos here somewhere in the relevant section that is a 7-part study on the Jewish Wedding Feast and the Rapture. It's by Andre Hendricks (you can always just YouTube search for him) and I'd highly recommend them if you want to look into some of the Jewish idioms surrounding the Rapture - regardless of where you stand on the issue, it's a great study.

"Man may make plans; the Lord decides what he will do." I always tend to lean towards Rosh Hashana myself. Not naming names, but so do a few pastors I've heard speak of the subject. However, this year I am so hoping for Pentecost because I want to go home so badly. Big time.

Okay, is it bad that I don't care which day it will be? Whether it be a holiday, holy day, regular day, etc? I find the different 'theories' interesting and they make sense, but all and all, I don't care....I just believe it will be soon and whatever day He chooses to come is fine with me!

I'm glad that you are able to do that, Gr8tful! You're not in bondage to high watch dates.
I don't know about Chuck Missler, but I did hear JD Farag allude to the rapture possibly being on the Feast of Trumpets in his latest Resurrection Service video that I posted in the Video and Multi-Media section around the 39 minute mark. So it looks like J.D. agrees with you on that.

That's exactly where I am. I like the idea of Rosh Hashanah intellectually - but I'm well aware that things that appeal to me aren't always the same as God's plans, so... whatever. We'll go when He's ready. Maybe today.

Thanks Benjamin, I will hunt for those videos to watch. I am caught up on all the video's on my saved list and was wondering what I would listen to next. Mind you, I used to fall asleep on videos and now, I am actively collecting them to watch.

If any date were set as far as feasts, I lean toward Pentecost being that it has to do with the birth of the church. It is not a feast regarding the Jews though, only the church. I honestly cannot correlate the Feast days with the church. But we don't know when the full number of the gentiles will come in. Only the Lord knows that. This is why I feel this way. The Lord will come suddenly and quickly.
*Edit: Sorry. I had to go back and edit because a sentence I wrote made no sense. My error.

Sunday, May 24th of this year. Odd, because my husband told me he's always had dreams that we were flying up when the trees were beginning to bud. All his Rapture dreams were Spring time. Mine have been more summer-ish.

When the Abomination of Desolation stands there will be 2 different things that are happening at the same time. Which are that people shall be on top of their houses. And some people shall be in the fields.
Mark 13 14 But *WHEN YE SHALL SEE* the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) *THEN* let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:
15 And let him that is *ON THE HOUSETOP* not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:
16 And let him that is *IN THE FIELD* not turn back again for to take up his garment.
There is two things to understand from this. WHY? Are people on their houses? WHY? Are people in the fields?
The only logical answer is that the people are *BUILDING and PLANTING* just as the same day Lot went out of Sodom. Meaning that they are not hiding under any rocks in Jerusalem and have not fled to the mountains. Because life is going on just as normal as ever. For them to be worrying about being on their houses and planting crop in the fields. There must not even be a terrible famine yet.
The other thing to take form this is that the timing of the year that the Abomination of Desolation must occur in the Spring time. Because why would they be in the fields planting. Not harvesting but planting.
Luke 17 28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, *THEY PLANTED, THEY BUILDED*;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 *Even thus shall it be in THE DAY when the Son of man is REVEALED.
31 *IN THAT DAY*, he which shall be upon the *HOUSETOP*, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is *IN THE FIELD*, let him likewise not return back.
Jesus said *IN THAT DAY*
Meaning in that day that you see the A o D then at that time quit whatever work you are doing. Whether it be building or planting come down and run for the mountains.
This may not have anything to do the question of the hour and day. But it is certain that people will be living as usual on houses and in the fields all the way up until the Abomination of Desolation because it is in THAT DAY that they see they must come down and run.

The Abomination of Desolation marks the midpoint of the Tribulation, however, not the Rapture (which occurs prior to the commencement of the Tribulation). The timing of this passage is pretty clear - it's prior to "the great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will again" (Matthew 24:21)
The reference from Luke 17 doesn't necessarily say that the Jews will be planting and building, but rather, that the people of Sodom were doing that. In a similar way, those in Israel will be caught off guard. That doesn't actually indicate timing, save that they could be in the field. This could be sowing or reaping, which... leaves pretty much any time open. Matthew 24 instructs the Jews to pray that this event doesn't occur in winter, so that then covers off all of the potential seasons.
I think the point, Scripturally, is that we're to be ready for the coming of the Lord regardless of the timing, or regardless of any inclination we might have of what that timing could potentially be. As I've mentioned, I quite like the typology of Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets - but I'm not pedantic on that point, because it's not about my intellect or any perceived parallels on my part, but on the timing the Lord determines. Likewise I can't say it will be this year, or that year, or anything in between - because I do not know the mind of God.
This is the beauty of any belief in the return of Christ - whether pre-trib, post-trib, mid-trib, pre-wrath, whatever... the conclusion should be absolutely the same: be ready, because He is coming. The great difficulty of that same belief is that many, believing that the Tribulation must occur before His return (in some measure), have fallen asleep, thinking that they still "have time".
This in and of itself is a great indicator to me that the Rapture is pre-tribulation. He comes without warning, and will not delay.

Many people forget that much of this refers to Israel. Why people get that confused, I don't know. This isn't speaking about the church, but to Israel who has yet to come to Christ. The church is the bride of Christ and has already repented, asked Him for forgiveness and asked Him into their heart. We recognize Him as our Lord and Saviour - the living and only Son of God. I also don't understand why people associate the Rapture of the church with any Feast Day of the Lord (meant for the Jews). The Rapture depends on when the fulness of the gentiles (us, the church) comes in. I have no clue why people do that. Only the Father and Son know that number. But, I believe it will be soon and only the Pre-Trib view makes any sense. Am I saying it won't happen on a Feast day? No. But what I am saying is that it can happen on ANY day. For the life of me, I don't understand why people set their hearts on feast days.
