I thought it would be neat if we shared a few of our favorite scriptures. Yes I know we love them all, but a few of the 100s we love I'd like to see some of your favorites and why? Say 2 or 3 of them? It's kinda hard to randomly choose a few but these are some that really 'stuck' with me.
Acts 3:6 - Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." I love this scripture because what it is saying to me is you do not have to have money in order to serve the Lord. All things of God are free so even a poor person can 'move mountains'. I always say because of this scripture, encouragement is free, doesn't cost a dime yet it's so hard to find! Anyone can serve, uplift, encourage, pray with someone, we should be able to be willing to give what we have, His spirit, healing, hope and such freely. It can change a life forever by simply saying, I may not have anything to give you, no money but what I do have, I give you.....free and life changing!
Mark 9:24 - Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” This scripture has always stuck with me. Many times I pray re: something and believe w/all my heart He is able but there's a seed of doubt - such as the father says re: Jesus healing his son. Yes he believed Christ could heal him, but yet will he? I am so thankful that scripture is in the Word because it tells me He knows there's a little doubt and so, He gave us this to say, I understand and I can help you with that, just ask Me! So when I have that seed, that's how I pray, becuz I do believe He can but what if? And He understands that and does not condemn!!
And this one is kinda cheating I guess....because it isn't just one it's whole chapters but they are SOOOO powerful I have to add it. Job 38-41!! I know most of you know these but I will share re: it. These chapters are SOOO humbling!! And shows God's absolute control and how awesome He is! You can just feel Job falling to his knees when the Lord responds as He did! And it makes you realize how dependent we are on Him and how we don't begin to compare to Him! We may think we have the answers to things but after reading these, we know nothing! Such as his friends advice, oh how wise they thought they were! It just hits me every time I read it! It certainly puts me in my place!!

Isaiah 53 and Psalm 22. I can't tell you how many times I've cried reading those chapters.

Thanks for all the answers but can you share what it is about those scriptures that touch you so much? The reason I ask is it's edifying and encouraging to hear the meaning of scripture in a personal way. Know what I mean? IT's touching.

I'd like to say I have one favourite scripture but am unable to because each day or week I often have different ones These are dear to me due to the fact that I've undergone much persecution and attack from worldly Christians who do not know God very well on account of the dreams/visions Abba has given me. Much like Joseph I was thrown in a pit " Now then, come and let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits; and we will say, 'A wild beast devoured him.' Then let us see what will become of his dreams!" - Gen 37:20 But the Lord has strengthened and refined me though each attack. If the enemy understood that by attacking us, he's actually making us stronger, he would not do it. If we respond correctly to these trials, self dies as a result. “ And they departed from the presence of the council rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name” - Acts 5:41 Behold at that time I will undo all that afflict thee and I will save her that halteth and gather her that was driven out and I will get them praise & fame in every land where they have been put to shame ~Zeph 3:19 KJV Be blessed!

Good post, MastersPiece. It reminds me of this verse:
He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along. (Psalm 40:2) and.....
dpr, that was hilarious about you memorizing that verse and how it took you a day to memorize that.
Gr8tful, It's hard for me to put into all the words that come to mind when I read Isaiah 53. I think of how He loves us so much and how he bore the stripes, each nail, the beatings, the scorn and mocking, the pain, the crown of thorns and how the Father had to turn HIS face while HIS Son was on the cross. That reduces me to tears every time I read it. To think He did that for us, who are nothing is inexpressible when it comes to saying how I feel.
Psalm 139 - I think of how our ways bring us into trouble and how we were formed and He knew us before even then. We were created to have communion, to have a relationship with Him and to walk by faith.
