Do you believe in fate and if so why?
I have my own answer but just curious as to how others think.

Good question Shiloh. No I don't. To me fate is basically leaving things up to chance, as some would say, leaving it up to the 'cosmos'. I believe God is in control of ALL things and we have the choice to choose His way or not. Yes some things, many things happen in our lives that have nothing to do with choice, but again, I believe all things are filtered through the Lord. So, whatever it may be, He will see us through it if we allow Him to. 'Fate' doesn't see us through anything.
Same with coincidence; don't believe in that either. There's a purpose and a reason things happen.

That's exactly the same way I think about it too. Thanks for your input, Gr8tful.

Hey Shiloh, this was a good question, got any more? I love any kind of 'trivia' type of questions!

The devotion posted November 25, Blessed Sovereignty, sort of discusses fate, in the sense are we fated to become Christians.

See, that's what I'm talking about, Liz. But, we, just as the angels were given free will to choose. I understand what you're saying though. Does God know who will ask His Son into their lives and know who will deny and reject Him? Absolutely. God knows the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end. but with God, I wouldn't equate FATE simply for the fact that God I omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. I can't quite find the words to explain my question.
