For those who don't know 5 doves is a end times site, of all denominations and views that write in and their letters are posted every Sunday. Some of the stuff is questionable like someone saw a 6 in the clouds once and so they thought the rapture was going to be in june one year etc, so it is definitely a place where you have to hold up everything to the bible, nevertheless it is helpful to see what people are coming up with and I sent them the following letter when I read somewhere that the tribulation has already started. I still don't know what to make of what I read but it was compelling.
" I was always raised to believe in a 7-year trib with the latter 3 1/2 years being the great tribulation and we would be raptured before the 7 years start. I have a lot of study ahead of me if the following is true.
I recently saw a video where it was proposed that the Tribulation started in September of 2017 with the Revelation 12 sign. I shrugged this off at first but then I found this:
standinfaith.org/the-70th-jubilee-and-daniels-70th-week/
Where it states that the 120th jubilee year is actually 2024. I thought, what is so special about 120? UNTIL I read this!
“My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days shall be 120 years.” (Genesis 6:3)
Could the Bible be talking about 120 Jubilee years? I am now trying to be as open-minded as possible and test things by the scriptures. I am interested if anyone can show what timeline they believe in based on the scriptures. We know we get the bulk of our timeline from Daniel 9:
24 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place. 25 So you are to know and discern that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with plaza and moat, even in times of distress. 26 Then after the sixty-two weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined. 27 And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate.”
I confess I am more confused than ever. I have so many questions. What are the proofs that we are raptured before the tribulation? I was taught that the rapture signals the end of the church age and its rules. The tribulation isn't governed by grace or taking a "mark" wouldn't be enough to condemn you. If that is true and I believe it is, then why would the tribulation start why we are still here? Still one can't dismiss the Revelation 12 sign. It had to mean something! But there is the promise in the bible that the church will not go through the tribulation Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Revelations 3:10
I have to admit it is hard to change your childhood beliefs. However, it doesn't say exactly when that hour of testing is so it is possible we have entered the last 7 years but not the time of trouble. Maybe this is why no one knows the day and hour (as a dispensationalist I do not believe this verse means the rapture at all. Otherwise, the rapture wouldn't have been a mystery revealed by Paul in Corinthians. However, I know I contradict myself by believing in a Rosh Hashanah rapture since the reasoning behind that is the idea that no one knew the day or hour of the new moon which announces Tishri 1)
At any rate, I hope the rapture is this Rosh Hashanah and I believe there is significant evidence we are soon out of here. I still can't shake off my childhood teaching that the peace agreement starts the tribulation, but I admit there is no hard and fast evidence in the Bible that I have found for this. However, I don't believe in a mid-trib rapture. Even if 2017 did kick off the last 7 years before Jesus' return, I see no reason why the rapture can't still be imminent.
This will be posted on the 22rd and I hope we will be raptured before anyone has a chance to reply. I just want to say, my intention isn't to mislead anyone. I am still studying myself and haven't come to any hard-fast conclusions. I admit, I want to go home so bad, that I am biased to any teaching that says that is soon as possible, but I am trying to be unbiased and search for the truth. You could reply to five doves or e-mail me at adelissahunsley@yahoo.com. I am very interested in what timeline you adhere to and what biblical reasoning you use to back up your belief.
Come quickly, Lord!
