Here There Be Monsters
by Pete Garcia
''He who kills a bull is as if he slays a man; He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog’s neck; He who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood; He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol…'' (Isaiah 66:3)

Here there be monsters? We have a real piracy theme going on here at the moment...
It's interesting that Garcia says this:
This is pretty much exactly the same concept I was talking about a few days back - that even in the church now, we have this thread where men and women are trying to... attain some form of divinity by either speaking for God, or speaking in place of God - false prophets, diviners, and those who claim to be direct mouthpieces for God.
Garcia uses it in a very different (and equally valid) context though. I liked it.

Yes, I saw it that way too. I never looked at it in that context before either. I was laughing at your post on the other site on a thread. That cracked me up. We have to be careful so that we're not "snarky". I have this feeling that I'll be the first to be kicked off. Some just don't get our sarcastic sense of humor though.

Erm... which, the Simpsons one?
That wasn't an attempt at being snarky, I just think it's hilarious that the comet is named after the Reverend.
...okay, so maybe it isn't, but it's still funny.

oh, THAT post... that's my man Giorgio!
I have to admit, I LOVE the show 'Ancient Aliens'. My conclusions and reasoning are always completely different to theirs, but I like seeing the evidence they present. Obviously without a solid Biblical worldview, they can't understand what they're seeing, "therefore, Aliens". These things make no sense in an evolutionary context, so that leaves open only the most ludicrous of possibilities - either God is real, and His word is truth, or, "aliens!".
