Pete Garcia... oh, how you hurt my brain. Almost invariably I agree with what he MEANS to say, but so often I dislike the way he says it. This... this is awful:
"A hot mess"? Seriously? The Word of God is a "hot mess" unless you have the right interpretive framework? I don't think so.
I agree that a dispensationalist understanding of Scripture assists us in really getting to the core of what the Bible is all about, and it certainly helps in regards to Israel and the Church... but "A HOT MESS" without it? ugh. Be more careful with your choice of words, Pete!

I see what you're saying but if we don't rightly divide the Word, it CAN become a hot mess. All Scripture is prophitable for us but not all is TO us (meaning the church). I think that's one reason so many take the whole Word at once and do not understad who the target audience is that the apostles or Jesus was addressing. I don't believe for a second that he was saying God's Word is a hot mess, just certain theologies which lead to much confusion. I think he's just addressing the person/people who aren't a bible scholar or are still learning. Anyway, we'll see what he says in Part 2.
