I have always been interested in prophecy, many decades, but I had not noted that the Scripture indicates that prophecy is as "a light in a dark place" and we are to take heed of it.
II Peter 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts;
The following verses remind us to keep the prophecy in mind but that we should not force our interpretation on the prophetic words.
II Peter 1:20-21 20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
In these days we are seeing a lot of prophecy fulfilled and need only wait and watch.

This is one of my favorite Scriptures. In fact this is where I got my user name "Morningstar" from the New King James Bible it reads: 2 Peter 1:19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts;

I had wondered about that when I saw the words "day star" in the verse, and "Morning Star" is so beautiful. Prophecy fulfilled is so uplifting!
