For a time now, I have felt that Psalm 50 speaks of the Rapture. But I wondered about a fire to come before Him.
Psalm 50:2-6
2Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
3Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
4He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
5Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
6And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.
All seems to fit: God shall come, He will not keep silence; He will call to the heavens and to the earth that He may judge His people; He asks that His saints be gathered to Him, He speaks of the covenant and the sacrifice (the sacrifice of Jesus's shed blood).
But what about "a fire shall devour before Him?"
Nowhere else, even in Revelation 19 about His Second Coming is it stated that a fire to come before Him.
Then, just now, a verse came to mind that fits, and it fits what is going on in 2021:
Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.
Here is the verse in context:
Hebrews 12:26-29
26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.
27And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
29For our God is a consuming fire.
As I think about it, I believe we are in the time of the Lord's shaking of everything that can be shaken in 2020 and 2021, and that we are in a time of receiving the kingdom, and that "a fire shall devour before Him," and that it is happening now. It will open the eyes of the unsaved, and it will cleanse and purify the hearts of believers. We are in a time of shaking and cleansing, and He is coming.
Should we take literally, "once more," that it means the last time before the Rapture of the Bride?
