Just out of interest!
So, for the context of this poll, 'cover-to-cover' means Genesis to Revelation, book by book, reading the entire Bible. How many times have you read through?

Wow, 10 times is a lot for a cover to cover reading. Benjamin, I think you might have gotten more votes if you would have included a 0 times.

LOL! Just a little side note. This got me to thinking (I know..it's strange that I would think) that some bible scholars say the WORST way to understand and read the bible is reading from beginning to end. They all have different methods, reasonings, books to follow up, etc. But most say to START with 1 John.

I was thinking(yes strange for me too), after I voted, the last time I read the bible through was a Daily Bible which is written in chronological order. Does that count. I should change my vote.

One of my times was a chronological order Bible as well. I went ahead and counted that because I did read it cover to cover. LOL

None of your Business Mr. Nosy Benjamin (Just Kidding)..Honestly I really don't have a number. In the beginning just getting through the "Begats" was really boring, until Chuck Missler pointed out that even the begats had a meaningful purpose. But, until I understood the Dispensations, it gave a much clearer picture on how God worked with Israel and mankind in each dispensation, and a better understanding of the "Age of Grace" (Church age)and His Prophetic word for the End Times into the Millennium.

I'm the one who has read the bible 10 or more times. I may have answered incorrectly as I have never read it from Genesis right through to Revelation. That never seemed to me a sensible way to read it. I have always read the bible sections at a time, for example a chapter from the History books and a chapter from the Gospels and Epistles.
I've been a Christian longer than Benjamin has been alive. 10 is not a high number. If you want a number for an absolute chronological study, my number would be zero, however.

I am not even sure of how many times. I think two but often jump around the bible when reading. Love to spend lots of times in the Psalms and Proverbs.

I think I should change my vote again. I just remembered one time I used one of those read through the Bible in a year plans. It did a few old testament chapters and a new testament chapter everyday and it mixed the Psalms all over. Maybe this question is just to hard for me. Do you have any easier polls?

This is why I put "5-10"... I have one of those Bibles too, and I've read that every year for years... but I didn't include it because it's not sequential. The poll doesn't actually mean anything, really - as others have pointed out, you can read in clusters (history/prophecy/poetry/law/gospels/epistles etc.), you can read sequentially, you can read in random order... ultimately I don't think it matters, provided that you do have an overall understanding of the Scriptures, which can be incredibly helpful.
