If you had to take one of the 66 books with you on a long 2 year vacation, which one would you take? Why?

That's difficult just to take one, so I would take two...Isaiah..because of the wealth of knowledge about the Kingdom, and the Prophetic preview of the Messiah. Also the Book of Romans which in itself is said to be like taking a seminary class. I love these two books, there is so much knowledge in them both.

Morningstar, thank-you. I was thinking Romans also. So much is in that book. Isaiah is good but I wouldn't use it as the only one.

We seem to be like-minded. I would take Romans too, specifically for Romans 8. Reason? Out of all the books aside from Isaiah, the apostle Paul has been the biggest help to me of all when it comes to understanding the Gospel. I know all of the books are important and profitable for us but not all are directed to us.

I would take Romans. Romans explains the grace of God, and the deliverance of our sins. What other book explains what happened at the cross of Calvary, as well as Romans? So much of Christian doctrine is in Romans.

I'm going to cheat on this one, and pick two books... one OT, one NT. From the OT, I'd take Jeremiah. I've been reading through it lately, and it's incredible. From the NT, I'd take Revelation... because... well, it's got a great climax

LOL! Smart alec! Hey, Jeremiah is known as "the weeping prophet".
I read this really good study by David Wilkerson about Jeremiah. Some parts were funny but most of it was serious. I laughed when he was imitating Jeremiah and saying, "I NOW you're just gonna forgive them, Lord! Why bother warning them?!

Jeremiah, hmmm sounds interesting. Benjamin when you are done you must let us know what you found to be the most interesting. Shiloh, is this the study that you mentioned? Jeremiah or Jesus link

I'm not sure if tha's the one or not, EPD. I have to read through the whole thing. I used to get his newsletters and sermons in the mail all the time. I still have them all in those huge envelopes, believe it or not. I'll read though that.

You guys made good choices. If I only had one choice, I would pick Isaiah. It has taught and ministered to me throughout the dark times in my life. I love Isaiah 53. I weep when I read that chapter. In the Old Testament, it is the most descriptive to me, besides Psalm 22, what the Lord went through for us on the cross.
I also like Romans, Jeremiah, and the Book of Revelation. Oh, it's so hard to chose just one!!

Not only that, but there is a special blessing for all who read Revelation.
