Have you ever wondered about this?
John 21 25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.
Can you even imagine what that means? The little that we know of is just scratching the surface?! Wow, He did so much with just what we know about and apparently we just know of a few highlights?! How much more awesome that time with Him must have been, the miracles, teachings, personal stories, etc that we have yet to learn about! I can just imagine everyone sitting around HIs feet and listening to Him tell us about it when we're home with Him. I personally cannot wait to hear about it all! If the whole world would not have room for the books, oh my goodness what the people saw, heard, experienced! No wonder the gospel spread even up to today! What an absolutely amazing time that had to have been. Which really makes it more telling about the struggle with man, his flesh and the deception all around us if all that miraculous, lessons, etc was going on - which had to have been beyond imagination and yet Peter could still deny Him, Judas betrayed Him, Pharisees rejected Him! Can't fathom that, yet wouldn't it be the same today if all Christ's massive amount of acts in a way no other generation experienced, would be debated also? Truly nothing new under the sun! Can you just see all the stations having their commentators going back and forth with it, mocking it, rejecting it, turning it into something it wasn't meant to be? You know all those 'real smart people' who think people who believe are just simple minded people - even tho it is right in front of them, they still couldn't see! It boggles the mind! Yet, I believe and can't wait to hear the rest of the story!

Yes, isn't that just awesome? And just think.....he did all of that in His 3 1/2 year ministry. Unless, of course, He started before that, as a young lad of 12 when He was found in the temple, listening to the teachers and asking questions where His parents found Him as told in Luke 2:39-51.

That's what I thought too re: in just the 3 and half years He did so much! But you have a point, it could have started earlier, maybe even before 12? I figure what was written for us, the things we do know about are the things He knows is what we need to know the most...not that all the other stuff was any less by any means, but we needed to know the ones written about for our walk and relationship with Him.

I've always loved that verse. One of the things that has always interest me is the question... "when did Jesus know who he was?".
Commentators tend to suggest that He became aware around that age of 12/13 - probably at or around his Bar Mitzvah. That doesn't sit well with me, though. I wonder if His humanity limited Him so much that He didn't know that He was God - and if so... how do we reconcile that? I also wonder, if, when He said "no man knows the day or hour, but my Father in heaven only" - if that's an indication that Christ didn't know something, or if His flesh limited Him from knowing AT THAT TIME. I suspect the latter.
Either way... just think... we have so much more still to learn!

I've often wondered that myself. I couldn't fathom that the Son Of God didn't know the date of His return. But perhaps He didn't when He was here on earth in His fleshly form, but He knows now. I would imagine that He does.
I've also read where His saying, "No one knows the day or hour, but My Father only" was an idiom to an old Jewish tradition that the bridegroom would say to people when they asked when he was going to get married, giving us a hint that the rapture could be on Rosh Hashana. (The day nobody knows because of the sighting of the moon.)

Yes I agree. I think becuz of His flesh He was limited in that knowledge until the flesh was stripped away. After all He was here and walked in our shoes so being limited to certain things would make sense. AS to when He knew who He was, is a thought provoking question. Part of me believes He knew almost from the moment He could think His own thoughts. Being a child, with the mind of a child plus being Him, that's a childlike faith unlike any other! I assume He always felt 'set apart'. Yet, when did He fully comprehend it the depth of that? I would think Joseph and Mary would share with Him His miraculous conception, tell Him about the angels speaking to them and all the events that came with His being in the womb, to birth and on. I can't imagine the joy He felt when He was talking/praying w/the Father and yet the heavy burden He carried knowing, sensing the heart of man as He walked amongst us. It's so exciting to know we have so much more to learn and hear about! And I love sharing our thoughts on such things!

I have always thought that surely someone wrote down so many stories that did not become part of the Bible. Did all writings, in this category make it way into the depts. of the Vatican? They just has to be more written accounts somewhere, in my opinion.
I too have always wondered just when did Jesus know who he was. The father never left his presence except in the last moments on the cross so surely he had to either know or sense he was set apart.

I know what you mean Rieom, I often thought surely there are pages written about when this man Jesus walked this earth. He HAD to affected a lot of people during that time, to the point that surely people were writing about it, painting what they say, possibly writing songs, poetry as well as letters to family, journals, diaries or something! I could almost see the Pharisees or others scoffers writing about it and using it as teaching tools re: some of the things He said. I had not even thought about being in the depths of the Vatican...that could be!! Or destroyed way back in the day by those who wanted the truth hidden. Either way, the Lord made sure we knew about the things He wanted us to know. So He has the victory no matter what! Will be awesome when we get the rest of the story, won't it!

I have struggled trying to reconcile with that too. When did he know and I have heard that it was around the age of 11 or 12 also. But, I'm not so sure about that. I think He knew earlier than that. One would think that seeing He is God, that God the Father would have instilled that knowledge within HIS Son, being the God-man. I wonder what it was like when He was a small child....around the age of 2 or 3. Did His earthly father have to discipline Him as far as dangers go or was He a perfect child? Being that He is the only one without sin, I don't believe it was the type of discipline we would have to discipline our own kids with when they were younger for doing wrong to others. I'm talking about, "Don't run out in front of that chariot coming down the road" kind of thing.
That is so true. I believe that. I also believe that we will be learning throughout eternity and that the Lord will continually reveal Himself. Think of the enormity of it all and how amazed we will be.
