Shiloh, this article is saying things I've certainly never heard before, like this:
The time has come to see these verses as later interpolations, contrary to the message of love and truth, which otherwise radiates through scripture. In accordance with our new understanding, we will begin to ordain women as cardinals, bishops and priests. In the future, it is my hope that we will have a woman pope one day. Let no door be closed to women that is open to men!”
I'm thinking this news source misunderstood something. This news would have been all over, yet this story was published at the end of last year, I think.

Yep. It's a hoax. You typed your post while I was editing Shiloh's I could type out all the false stuff in it, but this might be quicker:

Okay. I didn't know that was a hoax and had never seen it before. I have never seen that source before. Someone sent the article to me in an email today. Benjamin, maybe this thread can just be deleted?

it's probably worth keeping as a point of reference. Like I said, though - people wouldn't be able to credibly make articles like this one if it weren't for the fact that Francis has said some pretty heretical things, even by Catholic standards. He has already suggested that salvation might be universal, and that atheists won't necessarily go to hell, so the article, false as it is, doesn't seem like as much of a stretch as it should.
