When is the curse on the earth lifted? Is it when Christ returns to reign for 1,000 years? I'm not sure.

Elizabeth, do you mean Genesis 3:17 re: the land, crops, thorns, thistles....? I would think it's either at the millennium or new earth? That's an interesting question. Looking forward to input!

The curse is removed when the Lord returns to reign.
This is in Revelation 22:3, and is explained in more detail well by David Panton:

Thanks for your answer Benjamin. I wonder about when we leave, and when Satan is loosed. It's hard to imagine nature still being in this wonderful state with Satan rallying people to fight against the Lord. This innocent and wonderful state of nature makes me think that the time he will be allowed on earth before the Lord returns to finally cast him out for good, won't be too long. I hope so anyway. I guess we don't really know though.

It is hard to imagine that people will still sin even during the Millennium when Satan is bound (I know he'll be let loose for awhile again), but maybe it's to show those who live in the Millennium still having free will, can still rebel against God.....and I don't care what anyone says, I STILL wouldn't want to put my hand in the hole of and asp!

I know, it's awful that when it's all said and done and Satan is bound forever, there will be people here at the end of the millennium that will rebel and be cast out too!! Go figure!!

What Benjamin said from Revelation 22. Until then we have to deal with it. however, I would like to point out that does NOT mean we should waste resources, consume things, and destroy the natural environment. There were a few number of churches years ago preaching that we can let it all go to hell because the LORD is coming and will fix it so it doesn't matter. This is out of line with scripture. In the beginning God commanded Adam and Eve to "dress and keep" the garden. That means to use, work, and cultivate, (dress = avad in Hebrew) and "keep' is from the Hebrew "shamar' meaning to watch over, guard, preserve, etc. Then we can go into Revelation 11:18 where God says he will destroy those who destroy the earth. Proverbs 12:10..the righteous has regard to the life of his beast... (No animal abusing, puppy mills, CAFO farms, or needless slaughter of animals, which includes aerial hunting of wolves which I can prove harms the entire ecosystem of an area where done) Deuteronomy 22:6 “If you come across a bird's nest in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs and the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young." Jeremiah 12;4 "How long will the land mourn and the grass of every field wither? For the evil of those who dwell in it the beasts and the birds are swept away, because they said, “He will not see our latter end.”
And numerous passages showing the whole creation belongs to God and therefore should be respected, not abused.
Now honestly the sad thing is that most pagans realize this and respect the earth, but make the huge mistake of worshiping the creation and beasts rather than the Creator (Romans 1) Far too many Christians do not take into account the environment and are very wasteful and abusive of it. According to Jeremiah 12:4 the evil of people causes defilement of the land...
"And if you defile the land, it will vomit you out as it vomited out the nations that were before you." Leviticus 18:28..talks about defiling it by sexual sins, but is clear that sin in general defiles the land and the land will vomit out the inhabitants, which explains earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, tornadoes, tsunamis, etc...
Fracking in oil drilling can make the earth unstable and lead to earthquakes. Big oil industry which is a money and consumption orientated business cares little for the creation of God but rather serves mammon.
I believe as Christians we are not only responsible to people we come in contact with but the creation God gave us to live in. It is entirely senseless and sinful to defile the land through abuse and pollution..in essence people just make the curse worse!
