I posted a response to HisAmazingGrace's thread entitled Our Animals, and told Kolleen to go look at it. She could not find the post, so I started looking with her. Our computers are essentially side by side and so it showed that the main reason might be that the "Our Animals" post is found in the Members Only group -- which can be seen on my computer and not hers. Kolleen must then not be a member.
Is that intentional or by some policy or by a mistake or an oversight? Could it be corrected?

Sometimes I can't find a post I know is there (doing a search, or else going through Recent Posts). I see Kolleen among Members, in the top bar, and if I click Last online, she is in the list and how many hours ago. If I click her name there, I can see This member's posts, This member's threads. Anyway, I do hope this will get resolved.

Thanks, Marylou. I'd be surprised if this ever gets noticed or attended to simply from this little thread. Oh well. Just thought I'd try. Not worth fixing, maybe. Just a question for you: Beneath the Main Forum window is a Members Forum window. Does yours look like this? Kolleen's does not have the Members Only group. Hope you have a lovely day.

Yes, mine does look like that. I am positive that there are times that I either can't find a post (even recent) or have to dig around, like there is something not always loading. I keep attributing it to me getting confused or forgetful, but almost certain that sometimes odd things appear. I'm guessing that when Kolleen joined, it didn't load everything right or link her to everything.

Thanks. It may remain a mystery that disappears off the screen at the Rapture.

thank you both for bringing this up - I've had a look, and I can't see anything wrong, but I have made a change.
The members only board is now visible to EVERYONE - but non-members won't be able to read any of the content -in- the board.
I'm hoping that might solve both of your issues... if you could let me know if not, I'll check further.

actually, on further inspection... Kolleen only has 16 posts.
The 'Members Only' forum had only been visible to those with 25 posts.
So... I've fixed and updated that. It was basically a measure to ensure that people couldn't see it unless they'd contributed something meaningful (and to slow down the occasional troublemaker!). Now it's 5 posts.

Thanks Benjamin. I guess it would have eventually cleared up. Appreciate the intervention, particularly given your busy schedule.

I learn something new here every time. I had no idea about the members only till Dan mentioned it to me. Thanks so much Benjamin for your help and explanation. : )

That is great to hear. ProBoards sorts this all (posts, answers, etc.) out nicely I think.
