I wonder if there wasn't a zoo or an animal shelter that would have taken this little doe, I realize she is blind, but living inside someone's home when she becomes a full grown animal doesn't seem ideal to me.
I'll be so glad when sad things aren't happening to animals anymore.

I know. At least this lady has a lot of experience. Hopefully, they have a big yard to let her roam around....LOL. Rieom. She's an Italian deer. I'll never forget the time my son walked in the house at night. He was on leave and he goes, "Hey, mom! There's a doe outside right by our steps." I said, "Have you been drinking?!?!?!?" (we don't get deer around our place). He goes, "No, seriously..come here and look. I had the front porch light on and it was dark. I opened the door and sure enough she was standing there right by our front steps. It was SO cute! I wish I would have gotten a picture but she was so calm. I said hello to her. I wanted to pet her but I didn't want to scare her off. She just nonchalantly strolled down the driveway and walked on the sidewalk down the street...lol..I can't believe she used the sidewalk. She was strolling down the road and looking at the houses. All you could hear was a slow click, click, click from her hooves. We have a few Hemlock trees (I think that's what they are) and we noticed underneath one of them, the pine needles were all padded down. We think she was sleeping there. I hope she comes back this year. I'd like to get a salt lick for her.

What is a salt tick Shiloh? I have heard the term but I do not really know what it is. She is cute now for the house but hope they find a place for her as she gets bigger. Every time I eat spaghetti in the future, I will most likely think of her.

Spaghetti, huh? It's even cooked and everything... Aldoe, it is cute.
Rieom, a salt lick is something people put in certain animals' spaces, like for horses. I think the animals go to it, lick it and it provides them with certain nutrients they wouldn't normally find anywhere else when in captivity.

Hahahaha...spaghetti isn't bad raw either...when you're reading a book. I'll be thinking about that deer whenever I have spaghetti too, Rieom. Salt licks come in differnt shapes. These ones are square. Horses like them too. They have ones that are round and doughnut shaped that people hang with a rope. John's right about the minerals. Here's a link and there are videos you can find too. I guess you can also make them on your own instead of buying them. My parents and my husband's parents used to get those for the deer all the time. LOL...Would you believe my husband used to hunt and he's turned all soft and just feeds the animals and talks baby talk to them now. His dad was an avid hunter for deer too and he also turned soft. He named their deer and used to get the salt licks all the time. They had a lot of property and deep woods behind their home and the deer would come out and scout around. His brother has the house now (his parents have both gone on to be with the Lord) and his brother still hunts. My husband doesn't anymore. He just loves the animals and birds now and he picks up critter food all the time. One of his brothers accused me of changing him about hunting. My husband stuck up for me. He has his own mind. I had absolutely no role in that department and besides that, my husband wouldn't have listened to me anyway, even if I tried.

Oh, I didn't know your husband used to hunt. I wonder how people make those salt licks themselves if they don't buy them.
