Fair use for educational and discussion purposes Full article (Jewish Telegraphic Agency)I don't particularly want to make judgments about Francis or Peres regarding this, but you know what came to mind when reading that last sentence? "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it." - John 8:44 (NKJV) Regarding Abbas' "prayer"... it's funny how he called on his god for "freedom", "just peace", and a "sovereign" state. I could see him meaning all those things in a "wipe Israel off the map" kind of way.

That's a very fitting Scripture BJ. They can sound all nicey, nicey when they are praying to their gods, but we all know that their gods is not the one True God...and that includes the Pope, because the god he is praying to does not describe the God of the Bible...and maybe he knows that, he's not all that innocent....there just may be a deceptive heart in there.
This piece of Scripture also came to mind in regards to this Pope:
Revelation 11:11
The Beast from the Earth
11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon.

You made a typo there, MS. You meant Revelation 13:11. Honestly, I don't know if he is being deceptive out of his own heart or if he's being deceived in his own mind. But if it was possible for there to be true peace between Israel and those around them, prophetic wars would no longer happen. The "Pope" inviting and allowing a muslim to pray to his god in the "Pope"'s own "house", so to speak, and then claiming it is the same "father" is just... wrong. I think this shows where the Catholic church is headed at least if this "Pope" continues to be on the stand for many more years.
Interfaith on the basis of "peace" and "unity."

Give it up on the state already. You are not even legit in office and there is no state as of now. We see how they let their own people starve in Gaza and otherwise live a life of poverty elsewhere. We have Assad killing and gassing his people. Is this what the people want? Where was Peres in all this. From this short article it seems about the Pope and Abbas are alone and Israel is out in the cold again.

I agree with you on that, but Peres was there too, Rieom. His prayer/statement is included in the full article, I just didn't quote it because I didn't see anything that worth discussing. But here it is for reference:
I wonder why Netanyahu gave Peres the green light to go to the Vatican with Abbas, in the first place, if Netanyahu is a believer. Although he could have thought they were going to pray to the Lord only, even if just a formality due to the "Pope"'s invitation. I thought that they were going to the Vatican to pray according to the Catholic faith, until these reports of muslim prayer came up. Because that's just how absurd it is to allow all this interfaith stuff.
I think this "Pope" crossed the line with this. I hope he changes his mind about it and tries to pay more attention to what the Word says.

That's the way I see it too, Rieom. I don't understand this statement-
Why would Bethlehem be so important to them either? They don't believe that Jesus is the Son of God but that he was merely a prophet who will serve Mohammed.
John wrote:
You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? (Matthew 7:16)

Regarding Bethlehem, I think that either Abbas was just being formal due to being in the Vatican, or referring to precisely what you said of their beliefs, Shiloh. Or maybe what Benjamin said. Or perhaps all three combined. Lol.
Shiloh, I know, I know. I don't believe that they are saved either. Or at least the "Pope", I don't know much about Peres' beliefs, but the fact that he was present and a participant throughout the whole thing tells me a bit already. Abbas also, but that's for obvious reasons.

So Peres did have his say BJ. The only thing is you cannot make peace with some one who wants you dead. I too have wondered why Netanyahu let Peres go.
Shiloh: I agree with Benjamin, they are coveting what belongs to Israel.
