Oh, yes, Shelayne, who could forget the pink abomination? I just forgot it had a name to it. Your description of the whole horrid experience made me laugh so hard. You have a colorful way of putting things.

I just searched "Panda bears eating pink cake". I didn't think I'd find any. I had to be very "cleaver" about it as I was viewing some "court shoes".

Now when I read, "court shoes", I think of Ed Sullivan saying, "We're going to have a really good shoe show for you tonight." Remember how people would imitate Ed saying "show" that sounded like "shoe"? (My goodness, am I really that old to remember that? Put me out to pasture!)

Glad to see you posting BJ! I found the Panda comment funny Leeza. Yes, I was glad to see him posting, too! Glad you liked the Panda comment, Rieom. I really misunderstood what Shelayne meant. I got mixed up and thought that "O" was holding a Panda instead of a Kaola. Well, duh!! Yeah, Shiloh, what are the chances of your finding a Panda eating a pink cake? Good job.

Having finished my punishment for being a doofus, and having traded my dunce hat for something more in keeping with our cold weather, I am ready for my piece of cake now...

Hey you guys, I'm freakin' out over here because I heard the price of chocolate is going up real high and I have to have my semi-sweet chocolate for a late night snack....nervermind the fact that we can be nuked by Russia at any time. When chocolate prices go way up and we have a shortage, THAT'S the time I freak out.

What? They're raising the price of chocolate? They can't do that! That's criminal! I need my Hershey's almond candy bars!!
Shelayne, I love the cute little sweetie. I want to squeeze the lopsided weasels out of her, lol!!!

YES! Hahahahaha I was devastated when I saw that on the news! I love that chocolate from Germany and Switzerland. I always get the semi-sweet and have that with tea at night.
Ahem...sometimes I'd rather grab a stranger off the street to have as my family. I'm not talking about my immediate family, (husband and kids) but it's a lot of extended family on both sides of our families. I really love staying at home and having our nice, peaceful holiday season here now and playing Christmas music. I remember when the kids were little and it was always horrible, snowy weather and we would have to drive to both my mom and dad's and his mom and dad's and if you didn't show up or postponed it, you were on the *expletive* list. It wasn't our parents who would get angry but our siblings. Then, they'd all fight with eachother. Nevermind the fact that the roads were treacherous for us to drive on.

Yes, I think having family has it's blessings in so many ways, but by the same token, I've also heard nightmare stories of dissension, especially during holidays. That can be a stressful time of the year for many families. So when I play the violin feeling like a sad sack being alone during the holidays, I think of that and even though it is lonely, I console myself by reminding myself that I don't have anyone putting me on their shiitake list. That must be aggravating.

You know what Leeza? Not only do I agree but there are many times I don't mind being alone. I love my alone time. Maybe it's because no one is talking to me non stop when I'm in the middle of something. I need alone time when I'm praying and talking to the Lord. I wonder why that is that so many people fight during the holidays. Do you think it's the enemy trying to steal our joy? Last year, we had the loveliest Christmas. The snow was gently falling and it was very quiet. Almost picturesque (sp?) and we had our Christmas music on. It was like something out of a movie. I don't handle people screaming and stress well at all. I admit that. I like quiet. It was funny because I asked my daughter if she was going to make a turkey this year and she goes, "Nah! I'm making manicotti and and lasagna." and I said, "Aren't you at least going to put a lit wreath on the front door for Christmas (I'm a light freak) and have some small lights up?" She goes, "I'll think about it. Her and her husband really don't get into Christmas nor Thanksgiving for that matter. He comes from a huge Italian family. I have everything lit with clear and colored lights around this time. I have just the clear ones lit right now. I have no clue what I'm going to make for Christmas yet and I'm not real motivated. Probably a lot of picking food and I'll just lay it out on the table. I'm sick of ham....no. I'm not Jewish or Muslim. It's just too salty for me and then I wake up at 3 a.m. and need to get a real cold glass of water or two.

You now, I never thought about it in that way, but I think you're right about the enemy trying to steal the joy of families getting together over the holidays. I've heard too many nightmare stories of fighting and dissension during this time of year. So what you said makes sense.
Your story about how your daughter is going to make lasagna and manicotti this year instead of turkey reminds me of my good friend. She was so stressed out during this year taking care of her elderly parents and her stressful job that she told her daughter "I'm not cooking a turkey this year. We're going out to a restaurant for Thanksgiving." Her daughter was VERY disappointed because she loves turkey leftovers and offered to make the turkey herself, but my friend told her "No" because she knew that since her daughter didn't know how to cook a turkey, she would end up having to teach her how to do it step by step then end up doing it herself, lol!! Can you relate to that one?

P.S. I know this is totally off topic (as usual), but I was wondering if you would know how many posts it would take to get to the "Judge of Israel" status? That ranking gets purple stars, and I want that to match my avetar.

I'm not sure about your last question, Leeza. I only pay attention to the funny nicknames Benjamin gives everyone. I think it's posted on the site somewhere about how many posts. When he gets back, you can message him and ask.
HAHA! I can most definitely relate to that. I think I already posted this but my daughter kept emailing me when she made her first turkey and I said, "Why don't you just call me?" because she kept emailing me and saying, "I hope you're there" and I was doing our own. I had to walk her through it step by step including the homemade stuffing to stuff the bird with and side dishes. So, she called me the next day and said, "Mom! The turkey dinner was epic!" Everyone there loved it. Her hubby's family were all there.

Good idea about PM'ing Benjamin about the ranking of posts.
Hahaha! I knew as a mom you would relate to that! I smiled at the "e-mailing" instead of calling. So much easier just to talk on the phone because you can't sit by the computer for hours to wait for the next question, lol!!!
I did offer to my friend's daughter to have her call me and I would give her point by point instructions on how to make a turkey if it was okay with her mom. I did run it past her mom today, but she still said that she didn't want to be involved at all, so I just let it drop. My poor friend is exhausted, and just wants to chill out for the 4 days off.
