Disclaimer: no, "internets" isn't a word... but I like it. [moderator hat on]
Just a quick post - let's try to keep threads (relatively) on-topic, okay? We've drifted a bit lately, and while that's part and parcel of the forum format, and the fact that we all have our own unique personalities, it can also, at times, mean that people's (valuable) posts get lost in a haze of animated .gifs and cat videos. We're all guilty of it (myself included), but let's try to be a little more thoughtful about ensuring that the godly conversation doesn't get lost in amongst all the furry creatures.
Thanks!

Wise and proper advice, Benjamin. Also noticed your post just above looks like the beginning of a RaptureForum.net red letter edition. Nice touch. :-)

So, I guess we're not allowed to laugh anymore?

oh, no... everybody ELSE is allowed to laugh, just not you. Unless it's at one of my posts, then it's fine.
Seriously though...
Please do continue to be yourselves. If you want to post images in the threads etc., that's absolutely fine. My concern was that I looked at one thread in particular where someone had made some great comments, and asked a question, and those things were largely ignored because the thread became sidetracked by jokes and images.
Now, those things are part of who we are here, and an important part - but if it means that the honest, godly conversation is glossed over in the process, then perhaps we need to be a little more selective about when and where we post things.
Does that make sense?
I don't want to ruffle any feathers, and may have already been slightly overzealous (apologies to Morningstar!), but hopefully you can understand why the point was made.

What a good moderator you are, Benjamin. So glad I joined here. It's great the way you look after everyone. Personally, since I am a "comedy" person, I don't mind if any of my serious posts go off the rails. I love to laugh and joke around. But I respect what you're saying. I will try very hard not to get goofy on someone's serious threads. I can't promise, but I will try.

I think a lot of us are that way. In fact, if you were to look at my facebook page, you'd see that I very rarely say anything on-topic...
...and there's nothing wrong with that at all, until things that should be noticed start to go unnoticed.

Ben, apology accepted...I thought I had a Deja Vu moment there. But I get your point...I don't mind if people hijack my threads, I'm with Leeza123 on this, we can get carried away with our sense of humor, but we do need laughter to brighten our days sometimes.
