"40 You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” "
So, how on earth can anyone believe that after seven years of tribulation and every single event the Bible predicted, that there will be even one person who doesn't expect Him?
It's a simple argument, but it seems, to me at least, to be insurmountable when talking about the timing of the Rapture.

There are many who ascribe this verse to the end of the tribulation, which doesn't make any sense.
The beginning of the Tribulation will start when the AC will confirm a Covenant with Israel for 7 years (2520 days or 7 years which are 360 day years) The 144,000 & believers during this time will know exactly when the Messiah will be returning (at Armageddon)
Signing of the Peace Covenant Begins Tribulation (2520 days until the end) 1260 days in the first half until the Abomination of Desolation (AC in Temple proclaiming to be God) 1260 days in the 2nd half until Jesus Returns with His saints.
So they will know exactly when to expect him.
Daniel 9:27
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week (7 years) But in the middle of the week (1260 days into the Trib) He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”(1260 days to the end of Tribulation)
Luke 12:40 is for us today for we don't know the Day or Hour of His Return for the Church.

I'm not reallly sure about that verse because the Lord says (concerning the Tribulation) "If those days had not been cut short, no man would survive." (I'm paraphrasing there) So, if they believe He will be expected on a certain day by a count of days, it sounds to me, that day will come as a surprise. It sounds as if the Lord will come unexpectedly upon them also. We, the church are commanded to know when the time is near and to be ready. We are seperate. All Scripture is profitable for us, but not necessarily TO us.
