This excerpt was from an essay written by G. D. Watson. Here’s 2 paragraphs,
Our Father knows us, and loves us, in our individual personality, and has so hedged us about with private marks, as never to confound us with anyone else, and has established a most vigilant and minute providence over each one of us, just as perfect as if He has no other one in existence to look after but just our separate persons. Added to all this, He has so fashioned us that we each have a deep, secret world in our hearts, of thoughts, and loves, and yearnings, into which no fellow creature, can perfectly enter. Our Father is the only one who can go to the bottom of our inner beings, and know all the hidden chambers, and the only one who can meet all the requirements of our separate individual personality.
Right where human love has run its race, and broken down, fatigued, and exhausted, the love of our Father comes up fresh and full, bounding and radiant, with a sweet cheerfulness, as if it had just begun. How our Father’s love, year after year, has followed us through the wilderness of wandering, over the wild mountains of wayward foolishness, and listened for our cry of help! There is nothing like the love of our Father! Why is it that He loves us so, and that His love pursues us so constantly, right in the face of the thousands of wrongs and insults that we have given to it? It is because He created us out of love for us, and because He longs for our love in return.

How comforting! Thanks for sharing that, Elizabeth. I don't think I will ever begin to fathom God's love for me until the day I see Him face to face.

Wow, Elizabeth, that was beautiful! I loved that. So much wisdom in those words.
I have always believed that there is an empty place in our hearts that only God can fill. The world looks to alcohol, sex, drugs, and relationship after relationship to fill that vacuum, but until they meet Christ and ask Him into their hearts, none of those things can satisfy the thirsty soul.
Thanks for sharing!

Nana and Leeza, I'm glad you liked this. It's so wonderful when we stop to think how intimately and wonderfully our Father loves us. It's rather hard to take in, the breadth of it.

That one was deeply moving, Elizabeth. He knows our heart and our every thought. I think of that verse that says, "even the very hairs on your head are numbered" as are our days. I am no Bible scholar, nor do I know everything or have an attitude where I think I do (obviously from my posts). But you know what? I just love people who love the Lord even though we may have differing opinions. I know that we are to love everyone and be Christ-like. I fail in that often when it comes to those who shake their fist at Him and reject Him....I often say, "Lord, You are going to have to get to them because You know I can't"..... and often, I remain silent around people like that because I will slap them silly if I don't. I just go around talking to Him in my head, "I can't do this Lord...HELP!" There ARE some people that are more loveable to us than others. We will never attain that kind of agape love in our flesh. That is why the Father and Son's love is such a mystery to me and far too wonderful for me to understand.

This was a timely post for me Elizabeth. I just loved it. I have often wondered if God got my sense of humor and this post is confirming to me that He does. Just yesterday, at three different times, something struck me funny and as I laughed it was like I was sharing this with God thinking I hope you get my sense of humor.
Leeza: I have always felt that there was something missing that is a part of us that only God can fill.

Shiloh, I know exactly what you mean about agape love, and people that are hard to love. We should love all people equally, but we just don't, and really can't, in our imperfect human form. And Rieom, I am positive that God has a sense of humour, so I'm sure He enjoys yours. I'm glad you both enjoyed the excerpt.

Wonderful Post Elizabeth. In our flesh it is difficult to Love as we are commanded to do. The Lord gave me a glimpse of the World through His eyes a year ago. I will never forget that experience, it was an overwhelming feeling. I felt His love, and also His sadness for humanity and how He longed for people to repent. I understand that I could only get a glimpse because I would not have been able to contain all that He felt towards His creation. The feeling still lingers in me at times, and it helps me whenever I find it difficult to Love one another (Agape) as we should, sometimes I fail and sometimes I don't. But, we are not perfected yet so the struggle goes on.

Morningstar, it was Shiloh who brought up the point about agape love, and our short comings as humans. Isn't it going to be wonderful when we have our perfect hearts.
That must have been an overwhelming, wonderful experience that you had, and you describe it so well.
Of that written excerpt, this is my favorite part:
Right where human love has run its race, and broken down, fatigued, and exhausted, the love of our Father comes up fresh and full, bounding and radiant, with a sweet cheerfulness, as if it had just begun. How our Father’s love, year after year, has followed us through the wilderness of wandering, over the wild mountains of wayward foolishness, and listened for our cry of help!
People, especially difficult ones, are sometimes exhausting emotionally and physically. God loves these people too, and He understands and loves them, even when the rest of the world doesn't.
I think we are all difficult in our own ways.
