Many Jerusalem rental contracts include the unusual stipulation that if and when the Messiah arrives, tenants must move out so the landlord can move in and enjoy the ensuing paradise. Many Jerusalem residents believe not only that the Messiah will return, but that his arrival is imminent – so imminent they have taken legal precautions to ensure they can return to Jerusalem immediately upon his return. In apartment contracts around the city, there are clauses stipulating what will happen to the apartment if or when the Jewish Messiah, or mashiach, comes. The owners, generally religious Jews living abroad, are concerned that he will arrive, build a third temple, and turn Israel into paradise – and they will be stuck waiting for their apartment tenants' contracts to run out before they can move back. I wonder how many will be evicted when the A/C takes his seat in the Temple and makes his declaration?

LS, ROFL!!!...You really had me chuckling on this. Thanks for the laugh very witty question.....
Good article Elizabeth, we know that many of them will accept "The Prince who shall come" as their Messiah, so LS is right about that.

Yes LS, good point.
This article struck me as funny. On the one hand they were talking about the Messiah returning, the Messiah they have been waiting for, for 2 thousand years, here they are quibbling about the rights of renters. It just made me laugh a bit. At the same time, it's sad.

Elizabeth, that was my first thought, the article struck me as being funny as well.
Hopefully, there will be those who will be having the following conversation with their landlords:
Landlord: I'm sorry, but as you can see, the Messiah has returned and as per our agreement, you must move out by the end of the month.
Renter: Really!? Great! Because we were just about to flee ... er ... move to the mountains anyway!
