I know this is a cursed world, but this is lovely to watch. It was a from a BBC commercial. Sorry, I can not get it to come through Thank you Jim, I will try that: I was unable to do that either. Hm. . .I will consult with Shiloh. . . maybe she can help. I shall return.

Thank you Shiloh, I was just so perplexed looking at my options. I was going to try a few more times to post it, before I wrote to you to whine. I will get better at the technical stuff.

Wow, Elizabeth and Shiloh, I liked everything about that video! Thank you for your efforts to get it posted (strange side note: I was looking for info. on Devo's "Beautiful World"; I hadn't thought about that song in years, but it came to mind when I saw your post, Elizabeth. It turns out that one of the founding members of that band passed on yesterday)

Elizabeth, that's okay. I found it on youtube. If you need help just ask. Jim, there's a few different videos on you tube by them under that title "Beautiful World".
Here's Louis Armstrong's version of "What a Wonderful World".

Thanks Shiloh, that was beautiful to watch ... especially in the dead of winter!

Thanks Shiloh, that was lovely. And I think I know what I was doing wrong, so that's always good.
Our world is cursed, but boy parts of it are so extraordinarily beautiful. We can't even really imagine how beautiful heaven will be. Our imaginations are too impoverished.

I have never been able, and hopefully will never be able, to understand Satan's motivation for wanting this wonderful creation destroyed.
Thanks for the videos, Elizabeth and Shiloh.
By the way, did anyone else find themselves wondering if in the Kingdom those animals, (e.g., hippos biting each other's gaping mouths, or those musk oxen or whatever they were doing body-jarring lunges at each other), would continue to fight, for any reason whatsoever? I'm guessing probably yes, but lions will lie down with lambs and so forth... I think it's going to be interesting to find out someday really soon.

SG, I actually DID think about that very same thing while watching the one by Elizabeth. If the other beasts lie down together and are at peace, why not others? I mean, why would there be reason for them to spar with one another? Were they fighting or competing over a mating or were they playing? I'm not an expert on hippo behaviour...lol..but they tend to try to dominate and spar over a potential mate. It's survival of the fittest in this fallen world. That being the case, will animals need to procreate? Will giraffes be fighting and whacking eachother with their necks? I can't see why there would be any need. I think things will be very different. Why do you thinks some will still fight? Just curious as to what your opinion is on that.

You cannot imagine what that admission of yours just above meant to someone like me, Shiloh, who honestly thinks many of his own viewpoints and observations are odd. My possible explanation: they will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain -- (Jerusalem?). Everywhere else lions will be lions and bears will be bears...
It doesn't worry me, but even my own bride of 46 years shares this opinion with me -- about how oddly I often think. Before you take offense or something else, I want to assure you that this condition is not meant as an insult. Perhaps more to be worn like a badge of courage... Someday soon in the Kingdom maybe some of us would enjoy getting together on a "competition watch," reporting interesting instances of heavenly contests.
I still recall the phrase, (maybe found in Hezekiah chapter 5), that at least here on earth, "...what don't kill ya' will make ya' stronger!" I wonder if that verse has a far reaching and eternal context besides now on earth. Maybe that's why there's devils and such -- to make angels stronger...
By the way, I just looked and this is still generally on topic... Maybe...
By the way, Elizabeth, bless you for starting the thread, enabling us to share a new set of wistful dreams.

No problem StillGuessing. And, don't worry about feeling odd, you're not. I feel like the Queen of Odd, but people here are very nice.

That was a lovely video, Elizabeth! God's creativity is something amazing.
My living room is no South American rainforest filled with exotic creatures or anything like that, but I do get in a sort of awe just seeing my cats in a deep sleep all carefree and peacefully on the couch late at night, before I go to bed, because I'm thankful for the Lord's protection and provision, and because it amazes me how tiny they are compared to the rest of God's wondrous creations, yet they are living things, capable of feeling, breathing, and scratching my hands.
Lol, I couldn't resist this last joke, but everything else I was being serious. I don't know, the simplest things get to me sometimes.

What a great thread, Elizabeth! And thanks for posting the videos, Shiloh. I was about to post Louis Armstrong's version, but you beat me to it, lol!
Just Guessing, I crack up at Benjamin's non-existent book of Hezekiah, lol!! Actually, if I recall correctly, that phrase was written by an atheist!!

I'm cracking up, you guys. NO ONE is strange or odd here for their way of thinking. Far from it. We're all just wondering about things and that's all. Besides, the strange and odd department...well...I already have my crown lined up for THAT one...lol. I have earned my crown!!!! I WIN! I'm not sure I understood you post, GS, as far as the insult part goes. No insult is taken at all. I'm just curious to see what other people think and why.

I agree with you, Shiloh. I think there is a lot of intelligent, well-informed people here, and it is a blessing to be on here, that's for sure!! And Shiloh, as for you winning the crown of being odd.....no way!! You are sooo funny and talented!! Smart, too!!! Yeah, me, either. It was a really good post! No insult taken here.

Hezekiah wasn't an atheist, Leeza, so I guess you're right. He was probably not the correct source after all. Let's see... maybe Zedekiah, on the other hand, is a candidate for someone who might just as well have been an atheist. (I haven't yet found the book of Zedekiah anywhere in the canon, nor many references to it. It's obviously not as familiar as is the book of Hezekiah.) On the other hand, I wonder when Nebuchadnezzar put out his eyes, if Zedekiah actually felt any stronger. Probably not, not like Sampson, anyway.
What do you think of the phrase in Isaiah 54:16 where God says, "And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc;" Does it suggest that God created the destroyer for the purpose of adversity, and then goes on in the next verse to suggest we should have no worries? If it does, and I'm not dogmatically stating it does, could it then be that adversity is truly a deeply loving and growth-inducing thing? Even for head-butting yaks and biting hippos?

Leeza, I'm glad Shiloh posted it too, that was nice of her.
brotherjohn, I know what you mean about the simplest of things getting to you. In the world, I don't have much, but I'm not wanting anything. I am content now too. It is lovely to watch cats, I find them to be comforting animals. I have three of them in heaven waiting for me, Holly, Chloe, and Finnigan. This isn't one of mine, I just thought he looked very relaxed:

Actually, what I was referring to when I mentioned Hezekiah was Benjamin's reference to a non-existent book in the Bible as a joke, lol!! The quote itself, "What doesn't kill you will make you stronger" was actually written by the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, who I believe was an atheist. (Somebody correct me if I am wrong on that.)
As for Isaiah 54:16, the way I interpret that is that God is Lord over everything. He is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent, and He has everything under His control. I heard Charles Stanley say once that if we look at adversity from a different perspective as coming from a loving God Who only wants the best for us and allows it for our good, we will see it in a different way and not become bitter or disillusioned when adversity comes our way. When I started to see it from THAT perspective, then I noticed my Christian growth increased and I was able to praise the Lord under ALL circumstances because I know that whatever happens (even if it seems bad at the time), is for our good and for His glory.
So, that is how I see that scripture, Just Guessing.

Ahh yes, "good ole" Nietzsche. This is an oldie, but so very true. Ha! "God is dead." ~Nietzsche "Nietzsche is dead." ~God Yep, that sums it up. Sadly, I don't think we will be seeing Nietzsche in the Kingdom, though stranger and more miraculous things have happened.

So, back on 'it's a beautiful world', this video is so soothing. I have no clue what this man is singing and can't understand a word of it but it seems so fitting for the video. You can feel the praise for the Lord from the animals through the video and this man's beautiful voice. I will never understand how anyone can look at all of creation (not just animals, either) and claim there is no God.

Shiloh, thanks for posting this video, it's so beautiful. I agree with you, how can anyone look at nature and say there is no God. He truly is a fool.

Usually, I don't like posting videos over 3 or 4 minutes long because if anyone else is like I am, I lose interest and come close to snoring. This one is very beautiful, though and is only a little under 8 minutes.

Lol, looks like you still put everyone to sleep.
Ha, kidding. Shiloh, I like the transition around second 20 in the video, going from beautiful scenery pictures to a deadly snake that looks ready to attack while still keeping the soothing music. Lol! It does have some beautiful pictures, though.
