One more step towards the Tribulation hour......
Bible Prophecy Tracker News Blog:
Vatican Pushing for Control of Mount Zion
Arutz Sheva: “Christian leaders reportedly pressured Israel to turn over control of Mount Zion in Jerusalem during a clandestine meeting of senior city officials.
Pope Francis is expected to visit Israel and to lead a service in the Hall of the Last Supper.
The same building that houses the hall, which is holy to Christianity, also includes the tomb of King David, a holy site frequently visited by Jews. Some Church officials expressed upset over what they termed a major increase recently in the number of Jewish visitors to the site.”
Opinion: Church officials getting upset because of too many Jewish visitors to Mount Zion is an antithesis to the word of God.
Zechariah 12:3 tells us that in the last days of the present age that “Jerusalem will be a burdensome stone and all who try to remove it will be cut to pieces.”
That both the Arab peoples and the Vatican desire to covet these holy places is prophetic fulfillment of Luke 21:24 that teaches that Jerusalem will be trodden by Gentiles “until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.”

I need blood pressure medication. Things like this boil my blood and I know God is on His throne and this is prophecy unfolding. HIS word stands. Who does the Catholic Church think they are laying claim to what belongs to Israel? ? We expect that with the Muslims. I can't wait for us to come back with Jesus and see HIM touch down on Mount Zion.

This is outrageous, but we all saw this coming. I wish they had reported that Shimon Peres was largely responsible for this. The Vatican sure have their nerve.
Shiloh, good picture, I'm glad you changed your avatar

Shiloh, you know the answer to that. The Catholic Church thinks they're entitled to Jerusalem because they are "Spiritual Israel" - or so they teach. This is precisely the same logic and motivation that led to the Crusades - which, despite being entirely legitimate in physical, national warfare terms (to stem the tide of the Muslim advance and reclaim land lost), was never justified in spiritual terms (no matter how much that proverbial Clown-car full of Popes tried to make it so).
It shows, though, doesn't it, where our hearts are. Jesus said "My Kingdom is not of this world", and for 2000 years, His church has tried to make it so. Whether the RCC, or Calvin's Geneva, or the modern Pentecostal movement, the truth is utterly clear: The Lord Jesus Christ has just one Kingdom - and it is not for this world, but for the world to come.
"Behold, I am coming soon!"

Shiloh, pass the blood pressure medicine!...Their claims to Jerusalem has always offended me along with their arrogance in thinking they are the one TRUE universal Church. They covet the Holy Land and think they are entitled to it. Boy, are they in for a surprise.

Ugh. I despise the claim that the Church has replaced Israel. Utterly nonsense and shows the truth that they have neither read nor studied the Word of God.

Eben, they have read it, but how they studied it and come up with this kind of view is beyond me. I guess you would call them professing Christians right? 2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

That's precisely it, Morningstar. The pope claims to be the vicar of Christ and it is not mystery that their member follow them off the edge of the cliff, because the parishioners (when I was there too) have always been told, no one can interpret scripture except for the pope. HUH? If you ask me, it was a form of mind control.

Yes, Shiloh, when I was in the RC church, we were taught not to read the Bible because only the priest was qualified to understand and interpret it. Well, I thought to myself, "The heck with that..." (the G rated version of what I really said) and started reading the Bible cover to cover. I had both a Catholic Bible and a regular King James one. I was shocked when I got to Exodus Chapter 20 talking about the 10 commandments. The Catholic Bible took the second commandment out completely (the one about making carved idols and bowing down to them) and took the 10th commandment about coveting thy neighbor's wife, house, ox, servant, donkey, etc, and divided that into 2 commandments: 9th commandment....Thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife, and 10th commandment....Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's goods. In other words, the Catholic Bible completely took out the second commandment, and to replace that one, divided the 10th commandment into two.
I was absolutely shocked to see that the RC church changed the commandments of the Bible. That was enough for me. I got out of there.
Thanks, Morningstar, for posting this article. It's really an eye opener. When I read something like this, I can't help but wonder if the pope is the False Prophet ushering in the anti-christ in Revelation 13.

...you and everyone else, Leeza. I can't think of a better candidate for the False Prophet than the papacy. ...though, as always, God retains the right to surprise us with supernatural developments

I know what your saying Leeza, it says in the Bible that we won't know who the AC will be, but so far I don't see anything that says we won't know who the FP will be especially if we are that close to the Tribulation hour...but who knows, it might end up being Java the Hut for all I know...LOL....
I misspelled that didn't I...it should be Jabba the Hut I think, or maybe Pizza the Hut...Oh well...you get my drift.

It's "Jabba the Hutt"... you're lucky this isn't a Star Wars fan site, they'd sling you up and perform Chinese water torture on you for that one!

You know, Leeza, I was really shocked when I learned that too. I walked around in shock for weeks....lol...I tried explaining that to members of my family who were still of the Catholic faith at that time and they were almost angry with me. I had to prove it to them and show them what the Bible says. They still weren't too happy with me but....I didn't write the bible. It was God breathed.
