King David's Tomb to Remain in Israel's HandsThe Prime Minister's Office calls reports that Mount Zion will be transferred to the Vatican 'fundamental lies.' Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's Office (PMO) released a statement Thursday affirming that Israel will not, despite earlier reports, give away Mount Zion -- including King David's tomb -- to the Vatican. "All publications claiming that Israel was considering giving away all or part of Mount Zion to the Catholic Church are not true and are fundamental lies," the PMO stated. "The Israeli government does not have and has never had any intention of doing so." Continue reading Arutz Sheva Click Here

Good.
Mount Zion is in Israel and belongs under the authority of Israel, not the Vatican.
Thanks for sharing this, Elizabeth!

That's good news...It still blows my mind away every time I think of the audacity of the Vatican in their demands of what they think is rightfully theirs. I heard a few years back, I don't know if it's true, that some of the Orthodox Rabbi's had spoken to the Pope in returning some of the Temple Artifacts that were taken after the destruction in 70 AD. I wouldn't doubt it if it were true.

You're welcome brotherjohn. It certainly is good news, and Morningstar, I've heard the same thing about pressing the Vatican about getting the stolen temple artifacts back. Considering the world doesn't realize the Vatican has them though, they are under no pressure to give them up, unfortunately.

What really upsets me, is that they have so much wealth in the Vatican, and there are so many poor people within the Catholic Church itself, and this Pope tries to come off at being a very simple unworldly man..which I don't believe for a minute. I remember Mother Teresa who was always portrayed at very humble, helping the sick and homeless, didn't believe in administering medication to relieve the pain of her patients. She would give them aspirin and that's all. But, the minute she had a heart attack, she was taken to one of the best hospitals and given the best of care..why didn't she protest that???

Yes good point Morningstar. This Pope might do something to make a show of wealth redistribution, but it will be interesting to see what comes of it. He is a Jesuit, and apparently, it's the Jesuits that are running the show over there. Considering we might be looking at the fp, his actions will be interesting.
