my parents are in their late 70's and the recently have become obsessed with gay marriage and inequality and are calling my wife and i bigots because we oppose same sex marriage. my mother has gone so far as to insinuate that she would never worship a Jesus that denies equality to gay couples. and so, she posts on facebook all the time about her "make believe jesus" who loves everyone and who does not judge.
and my wife and i are basically shunned by my entire side of the family, even though, as far as i know, no one in my immediate family is gay or is dealing with these issues. i have never seen my mom so obsessed with a social issue like this. she is planning protests, etc..... please pray that my parents call on the one true God before they die. it breaks my heart to think of spending eternity without my mom and dad.

Jasperdale, I will pray for your parents.
I know where you are coming from, I have many unsaved loved ones too. It does break your heart.

This mindset that is invading our culture is all part of the spiritual warfare we are experiencing, and for those who do not have the Savior do not have the weapons to fight, but we do...Jasperdale, my prayers will be going out for both your Mother and Father for their Salvation that the Lord will lift the veil from their eyes. God Bless you all

Jasperdale, that sounds like an uncomfortable situation and I'm sorry that you and your wife have to experience that. I'll be joining the others in prayer for your parent's salvation.

I'm in agreement with all above, Jasp. Rest assured, I will keep them in my prayers along with you and your wife also.

I understand how it feels to agonize over an unsaved parent. I prayed for my mom's salvation for 20 years, and God was gracious enough to save her three months before she passed away at the age of 87. So be encouraged, Jasperdale. Nothing is impossible with God.
I will join the others here in praying for your parent's salvation.

Sending prayers your way. Family members tend to think of us as obsessed when it comes to our belief in Jesus, God our Father and the Bible. It is as if a veil is covering their eyes that keeps them from seeing the truth. We can only pray that they will be saved before they die.

thank you all so much for your prayers. i do know the power of prayer. i don't know if anyone watches "Christ In Prophecy" with David Reagan. anyway, a few years ago, i wrote a letter to their ministry and received an answer from their webmaster Nathan. in the letter, i described how i would watch their program in the middle of the night when i was up with chronic pain.
anyway, one week i noticed how much better i felt. i found out a few days later, that when i watched their latest program, Nathan had mentioned my letter on air and included my first name. anyway, i immediately realized that there were probably thousands of Christians who had lifted me up in prayer as a result of hearing my plight mentioned on their program. ever since then, i have been very aware of the power of prayer.
i always try to click on every thread someone writes on a forum about asking for prayer, and offer up a prayer for their situation, even if i don't make a reply om the thread itself. i am so aware that Jesus listens to each and every one of our prayers. it is SO important for us to pray for one another. i can remember months ago, long before i found this particular forum, reading about "shiloh and her cats" and praying for her and her family, even though i never replied on the forum. i can only imagine all of the people that have prayed for my parents this week, who will never actually comment about it. and for that i want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart.

Jasperdale, that is so sweet of you but my cats never needed prayer. What they need is to be thrown into the outer darkness...lol. I have my prayer notebook and even though it's a spiral notebook, I write down prayer requests and who they are from and who they are for, so that I can go through them each day or evening. So, you and your parents will not be forgotten. I have only requested prayer once and that was for my husbands quadruple bypass surgery. He had many praying for him and he was so thankful. His recovery has been amazing and even his surgeon was amazed the next day after his surgery. Not only that, he got to witness to people and told them he had a lot of prayers going up. There was a nurse that wanted to know if he had special care from someone because she said, "NO ONE walks into the step-down unit after that kind of surgery!" It was almost as if she was angry about that and she had a bad atitude, which for the life of me, I didn't understand. But that's where his witnessing opportunity came in. So, you are seeing it the way it is. There IS power in prayer. It is the most powerful thing we can do and there is always hope in the Lord. He works all things for good for those who love Him.

shiloh, i don't have you confused with those who were asking prayer for their cats. i just remember praying for you BECAUSE you loved all these little critters. i remember how kindly you would post when people were saying snarky things to each other. whether you knew it or not, you were a bright light shining out all the time, always trying to find nice things to say. i remember praying that Jesus would bless you and your husband and your little "critters" because the Holy Spirit sure seemed to be using you to bring love and compassion to people right when they needed it.

Jasperdale. Your avatar is so fitting because you really DO have the heart of a lion. I don't remember half of what I posted because it has been awhile but you have such a gift of encouragement.
