Why doesn't this surprise me?....how obvious can you get with this list of compromises for both sides...If it weren't so sad..it would be laughable.
Bible Prophecy Blog Obama: Israel must make tough choices for peace (link to full article)
The Times Of Israel: “US President Barack Obama said Monday that tough decisions will have to be made as the deadline nears for completing a framework for peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.
Obama spoke in a meeting in the Oval Office with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, ahead of private talks between the two. He said it is still possible to create two states — one for Israelis and one for Palestinians. But Obama said the task is difficult and requires compromises on all sides.”
Opinion: Here is a summary of the compromises for both sides:
Israel’s tough choices:
Israel must cease building homes in the settlements Israel must release all convicted Palestinian terrorists Israel must vacate Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley Israel must give up East Jerusalem and the Temple Mount Israel must guarantee the return of 4 million Jordanian Palestinians Israel must insure that all lands given up are free of every Jew
The Palestinians tough choice:
Acknowledge Israel’s right to exist …

What an indictment -- a shaky and suspicious framework indeed. That last one reminds me of a specification suitable for asbestos abatement...
On a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 1994 with my mother-in-law's church group, we landed in Amman, Jordan, spent the first night there, and the next day were taken to Israel in a Jordanian tour bus. The guy up front with the microphone began describing the ethnicity of the Jordanian population, and concluded his list with a louder and quite proud announcement that there were "NO JEWS!!!" The tone and message kind of shocked me. For two weeks while in that area I marveled at the palpable hatred.

I just want to scream when the only concession the Palis need to make is to acknowledge Israel's right to exist. Then the world falls all over themselves praising them because they actually HAVE acknowledged Israel's right to exist, and yes, they have. The crucial missing element is-- they have a right to exist AS A JEWISH STATE. Therein is the rub. And the worldwide media ALWAYS leaves that very critical component out when discussing the peace process because the Palis will not agree to that and have NEVER agreed to that in full context. A half-truth is still a LIE.
