I was thinking about what heaven might be like. We can only imagine with earthly images, but I thought it might be fun to post what we might be imagining, what might we find in heaven? Flora, Fauna

Oh nofruitforeve, what a wonderful idea, I never thought of sound effects. And I love the pictures you posted, they are luscious.

For all you RC's out there ... these are "supposed" images of purgatory :

It will be / is already / considered "supernature" I suppose. Probably no one there has ever heard of or thought about Mother Nature. Can't wait! Thanks, Liz, No Fruit for Eve, and also Mrs. Emeritus.
I wonder if pigs are going to be prohibited there.
Photos of that proverbial cold day in ____, Jim? Nasty! BRRRRR!!

NFFE, I'm a theme song lover too! LOL, I actually have that movie and what prety pictures you posted. Well, I couldn't find a fitting one that goes to John Dunbar's version of the theme song but this has been one of my favourites...

Oh Shiloh, those pictures you posted are so beautiful. I kept saying 'Oh Shiloh' as I pulled down the thread.
I also like the music you posted.
Smoking Baby, we weren't going for the RCC take on things. I seldom ask for their opinion.
Dan, yes I also noticed that Shiloh is now an Emeritus, having over 1,000 posts.

Well Liz, I've ripped on that institution enough lately, so I thought I'd help out their current members with some visual aids to complement their doctrine

I'm pretty sure emeritus isn't a Latin adjective meaning "without merit." Right?
Reiom congratulated me yesterday for being quietly dubbed "Sir Junior Member." (Embellished explanation here - not a lie, just a little hyperbole.) Thanks, Rieom.
Senior far better fits someone my age - undoubtedly being the oldest one posting on RF...
Wanna' swap categories with me, Shiloh? I'm in the throes of a retirement decision.
Liz, that sister might not be as scary as your caption of displeasure and warning suggests. In any case, is it possible that's simply an inscrutable smile. Left eye is sinister. Right eye is possibly tender. No? Hopefully to be on the safe side Jim could prove to her he's quite contrite and penitent. Anyway, at the cost of cigarettes today, that baby must be costing Jim a fortune.

Dan, Smoking Baby is part of Jim, just like Cranky Nun is part of me, sad to say.
And congrats on reaching the Junior Level.

What a good way to start my day. These pictures are gorgeous and I love all of them. I imagine heaven will be breathtaking anywhere we look. I have always pictured fields of flowers the type and color of which we have never seen.
LS: I have been in purgatory all Winter with more coming.
Elizabeth: That picture of the nun brought back memories. Back then nuns were allowed to hit their students and they went at it full force. My cousins and I often joke that we need T-shirts that say "I survived catholic school"

Thanks, LS, for the info on what becoming a nun requires. I just now read some of the specifications and I would have serious difficulty qualifying.
Sounds like some nuns might have been thought of as rappers by kids with bruises on their knuckles, huh Rieom?
Joshua was a son of Nun...

StillGuessing: The ruler was their weapon of choice. They would use the hard edge across the knuckles to deliver the most pain.

It was pretty common then, Rieom? Do you suppose there was a book they all had to study in nun training college having to do with orthodox means of maintaining discipline in the classroom? I suspect kids' compliance was most often the result, but accompanied by a more subtle side effect of resentment... I can't imagine a compassionate or rational Christian woman actually wanting to inflict the most pain... I never experienced that, thank God.

Dan, yes it was nice of LS to step in as a career counsellor. I always used to smile at this in the bible too,
Good catch!

I can't imagine a compassionate or rational Christian woman actually wanting to inflict the most pain... Oh, we are out here, SG. Oh yes... Muahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa! (And I am going to beat you to the punch for I know you will say something along the lines of, "I said compassionate or rational... not psycho." Hee hee!)
Seriously, I love all these photos, but there is something missing from the photo essays--
A KITTEH!! Where are the KITTEHS?? I will have to retrieve some....
