I've just added a custom text field - really, just for fun.
If you go into your profile (click profile, in the menu bar above), then select "edit profile", and the "personal" section, you'll find an option down the bottom to enter your favourite Bible verse. So, for example, one of mine is Psalm 45:1.
Now, in the bar on the left here, next to my name, you can see my favourite verse. Simply mouse over it to see the full text. It's a simple little addition, but could be fun - and I'd love to see what your favourite verses are!
I look forward to seeing it used!

Thanks Benjamin; that is a cool feature. I might be able to narrow mine down to one, but it would change with mood or circumstances, for instance. Sigh. Like going to a great restaurant where the menu is too long and you're trying to choose...
Could the program let us build a small table in the profile, and then as executed the program could cycle through them, changing the references at some interval? Also if I entered "Isaiah" would folks mousing over that be able to scroll through Isaiah? Just kidding...

Well, with Isaiah 53, it was hard for me to pick a favourite verse because I love all of Isaiah 53. Cheating? Maybe.

Could the program let us build a small table in the profile, and then as executed the program could cycle through them, changing the references at some interval? Unfortunately, no - because it's not a space I can put a script into, it's just a simple text field. Highlighting the text to show the verse itself is an entirely different feature (RefTagger); the two work together perfectly, but as far as I'm aware there's no way I could rotate several.

You could, of course, just pick one, and then change it next week

Then folks would know how really fickle I am, Benjamin. One day or week this verse, another day or week that verse. I could get a nasty reputation for being indecisive. :-) Well, maybe I could fool everyone and start a Verse du Jour club so it would appear intentional, not indecisive... Okay, so where do I find the verse that goes something like, "Be sure your sins will find you out!" ?? I should start with that one.

is it bad that I want to edit your profile and put Proverbs 6:6 in there?
...not that I'm implying anything, I just think that verse is hilarious.

You have seriously misjudged me, Benjamin. I know how to find that verse. Mouse over. See? But as our fearless leader, I guess you must do what you have to do...
At least your punches-pulled implication about my slovenliness in research effort is not scary. Not like Shelayne's frightening attack earlier today in the thread "Fantasies of Heaven." That was more like a warning tail rattle to me. Have you heard her evil laugh? Can she spell, or what! Check it out: "Muahahahahahahahahahaaaaaa!" Reading that laugh gave me goosebumps.
Two attacks in one day!
Well, good night. Tomorrow maybe folks will be kinder to poor old SG. :-)

hahahahahaha...when I hovered over that verse, that really made me laugh. SG, it's so hard to decide because I think we all have a ton of favourite verses. I already have one in mind for tomorrow. So, it's nice to be able to change it from day to day or week to week.

I still love that kitten of yours, Shiloh! Really precious! Okay, here's a challenge for you and Shelayne: find a kitten in Scripture. Not just any feline, but a kitten. Actually this challenge could be open to anyone. Even our beloved leader...
All I can think comes close is soft rumbling sounds coming from a contented mother cat loving her soft rumbling kittens. Hint: 14/15 of Adar II. One more: Esther.

You have seriously misjudged me, Benjamin. I know how to find that verse. Mouse over. See? But as our fearless leader, I guess you must do what you have to do... hey, like I said... I'm not implying anything, I just think that if you can't narrow it down to a single verse, I should get to decide on your behalf. And, should I be forced to do so, I'll make sure it's something hilarious.

Yeah, you may or may not be implying anything, but insecurity forces me to infer everything! Sniff.
Check out Luke 17:1, Benjamin. Be careful.
(Hope you know I'm hamming things up, Benjamin, and there is not even a smidgen of offense taken here - while trying to be sensitive to what people might infer... unlike some people. :-) )

We just gotta' love the cycle of either repentance or Scriptural clarification and subsequent forgiveness. No? Hugs, bro? :-)
PS - didn't mean to like my own post. I fat-fingered an "edit."
