Part of being a watcher is taking the information we read and putting it against scripture. When the net goes down and our information comes from mainstream news, how do we continue watching? In a sense, we will be in the black as to what is going on in the world around us. What are your thoughts?

rieom. I know what you're saying and have had that same thought before. I think once a watcher always a watcher. There's no going back and the Lord will always provide a way, in one form or another.

Personally I think that when this is fully implemented we'll be out of here, or close to it. This is one of the biggest evangelistic tools at this time, we don't know how many people Christian forums, blogs & websites have planted seeds in unbelievers. Also, these sites still might be operating the first few month's into the tribulation, many will be wanting answers and these will be the first places they will go to. The Lord is in control of it all, and it won't be shut down until He says it will. Maybe were a lot closer than we think...my thoughts only.

I'm confused and probably missing something, what do you all mean by without the internet?

BJ, I think rieom is referring to this article: U.S. to relinquish remaining control over the Internet (correct me if I'm wrong rieom) Once total control of the internet is in hands of International governance (which is where it's heading), chances are Christian website's and secular websites that are not aligned with a Global mindset will probably be shut down.

Lol, MS, I had just updated my post saying that I had just found what you were talking about, but thanks for sharing it!
Ugh... Of course this would be yet another attempt by the enemy to cause division. This world is getting more tiring by the second. I can't even comment properly on that.

Agreed, John. Don't you feel an oppression? A heaviness? You an feel it in the air, as if there is war going on in the heavens or prinicipalities causing the oppression. There are so may of us watchers that are so tired but I don't mean that in the sense of watching for our Lord's shout and command to "Come up here." I've felt this for about 4 years now. Even the secular world is noticing the oppression. I pray many wake up before the Rapture. The difference is, we, as watchers see prophecy being fulfilled, but the secular world is baffled as to what's going on.

You're right about opression. It's to the point of getting ridiculous.

I think we can watch without the Internet - no problems there. We wouldn't have the same volume of information, of course - but I think we learn so very much from spending time in God's Word, that what we find here is merely complementary. After reading Elizabeth's thread the other night about Obadiah, I sat down to read through it again. I think I learned more about Edom and the relationship between Jacob and Esau from that time than I did in the years that preceded it.
Likewise I think that we've barely begun to scratch the surface of God's Word. How many of us can say that we've pieced together the entire Revelation timeline? When does Edom fall? Who causes them to fall? What happens to Egypt? Does God destroy, or redeem Iran? When Jesus returns, where does the great battle take place (hint: I don't think it's Megiddo!)... there is so much more to learn!
...without the internet, I think we'd learn just as much - we'd probably just have to work harder at it. In my case, Elizabeth's thread prompted me to look deeper into a book I hadn't read in a while. That journey of discovery was fascinating, and reminded me just how close we are.
...but either way, we won't be watchers for much longer anyway. ...because who fasts while the bridegroom is with them?

I agree Benjamin! One Christmas, years ago, I received a poem I've never forgotten. Bear with me on this - it has a Christmas theme and it might not sound relevant at first glance...... "When the candles have burned down, the carols have faded, And all the starry song-filled night is past, Thou alone remainest; And Thou art enough! Remain Thou in me, More beautiful, more beloved, more real than any of the radiance that clusters round Thy birthday."
God and His word is what matters. Our strength comes from Him and He might need to wean us away from our dependency on the internet. I hope not, and my prayer is that our godly friends on the web will be given voice till the day we go, but His ways are not our ways.

I loved the poem too Annemc. I agree about the evil being thick, it is oppressive.
MS: That was the article I was talking about. Thank you for posting that link.

I agree with you all, sometimes you can feel the evil in the air, and I always think of "Powers & Principalities of the air". I like what Chuck Missler said years ago...the closer we get to the Tribulation, the more demonic activity will increase. I think were seeing and feeling this now, especially if were so close to the Rapture.
