How can they announce this when they're not even 100% sure if the debris is from the Malaysian aircraft?..Seems like they just want this to be over and done with. Sounds pretty fishy to me. Times of Israel Malaysia PM: Missing jet crashed into Indian Ocean
Najib Razak tells reporters satellite data shows plane ended journey somewhere west of Perth, Australia; airline informs families that all people aboard were killed. After almost three weeks of searches, Malaysia’s prime minister announced Monday that missing Malaysian Air Flight 370 likely crashed into the southern Indian Ocean. The airline said the crash killed everyone aboard. Najib Razak said satellite data showed that the plane followed a southern route after disappearing on March 8, and crashed somewhere west of Perth, Australia. Dressed in a black suit, Najib announced the news “with deep sadness and regret” in a brief news conference late Monday night. He said Malaysia Airlines has informed the families of passengers of the plane’s fate. Najib said the information was based on an unprecedented analysis of satellite data from Inmarsat. Malaysian Airlines informed the families of the 239 people aboard via text message that the plane had crashed ”beyond any reasonable doubt,” according to the BBC. They said none survived, according to AFP. Earlier, ships rushed to the location of floating objects spotted by Australian and Chinese planes in the southern Indian Ocean close to where multiple satellites have detected possible remains of the lost Malaysian airliner.
