Putin calls Obama to discuss Ukraine
Russia's Vladimir Putin has telephoned President Barack Obama to discuss the US proposal for a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Ukraine. Mr Obama suggested that Russia put a concrete response in writing, the White House said in a statement. According to the Kremlin, Mr Putin suggested examining how the situation could be stabilised. Lol, Jim.
But who calls someone to discuss "important" world matters? For once I actually think Obama did good in suggesting a written account instead. That way he can use pretty stationery have proof of whatever they discuss and there is no someone wiring anyone's phone. The only bad thing would be that it would take ages for letters to get anywhere. Maybe I'm nitpicking. At least it seems like they've arranged for their foreign ministers to actually meet.
Thanks for sharing, Elizabeth!

Putin has an agenda and what that is we can only guess at. He wants Russia as the new world power and has proven this. He amasses 80,000 or more troops in the Crimea. Why would he suddenly seek talks with O? Something does not feel right. We have most of Europe on their toes and Poland is calling in there military reserves in such a number as has never been done before. Many feel that either war will break out this weekend in Europe or if Putin starts pulling out his troops, war will be averted. I just wish we had the whole story and now what each government is putting forth.

Jim, John, and Shiloh, thanks for the laugh.
I think Putin then must be happy with Crimea for now. I'm sure he's planning on annexing the Ukraine, but just not now. No doubt it will come.
