Well, I think you hit the nail on the head when you said God knows your heart. It isn't like we're worshiping Ishtar or honoring pagan customs. If I eat a chocolate bunny, it's not like I have Ishtar in mind or honoring Ishtar. I just happen to like chocolate...lol..and marshmallow peeps. Dark chocolate roses are good too! My husband bought me some of those for Valentine's day. I would make my kids Easter baskets because they used to get all excited about the chocolate, jelly beans and toys I would put in there. But I made sure they knew what we were celebrating and that it was all about Jesus and the Resurrection. I would make Resurrection cookies (a 3 day process) and you would read certain verses to them when you checked on the cookies each day. Of course, I read them out of their children's bible so they could understand and I made a cake one year like a mound and put 3 crosses on it....that didn't turn out so good though because it was a little lopsided.

I'm in the same boat. I don't worry about traditions around these dates. Jesus wasn't born on Christmas, and He didn't die on Good Friday, so... whatever. Let the bunnies be - "but as for me and my household; we shall serve the Lord."
My girls know very well what happened at Passover. We've talked about the symbolism of the Lamb, both there, and in Christ... and they understand what is important. That's enough for me.

Benjamin, I have a picture hanging in my house with that verse on it.
