I feel sorry for Jonathan Pollard, he will not be released now. LizIsrael cancels fourth prisoner release Israel will not release the fourth batch of 26 prisoners it was to have released last Saturday night because of the Palestinian decision to apply for admission to 15 international treaties and conventions, Justice Minister Tzipi Livni told chief PLO negotiator Saeb Erekat. Israel cancels fourth prisoner release ... until Kerry warns of "consequences." Then it's back on. If anything, this will buy the Israelis some time to prepare themselves, because it they do end up releasing those prisoners, my fear is that the Palestinians will immediately quit the peace talks and, may God forbid it, launch some kind of attack on Israel. Wait. Are we supposed to take "consequences" seriously now? What is he going to do... place economic sanctions on 12 irrelevant Israeli businessmen?
I'll be interested to see where this leads. Israel should have known better than to agree with the first three releases. This was never about peace, only about gaining what could be bled from the Israelis while time, and the peace process, permitted.

Benjamin, let's not doubt Kerry's word, or there will be "consequences."

Oh, and nice try with the "12 irrelevant Israeli businessmen."
