Friday, April 04, 2014 ICRC to stop routine aid to Gaza? Hamas newspaper Felesteen reports that the International Committee of the Red Cross will stop routinely providing medicines, ambulances and spare parts for medical equipment to the Gaza health ministry by the beginning of 2015. The report says that the aid began during Operation Cast Lead and had remained for five years since then. The Hamas government is strongly protesting this. Israel had not restricted any imports of medicines or medical equipment to Gaza (although certain types of equipment sometimes take a few extra days for special permission.) It appears that Hamas' complaint is that the cash-strapped government doesn't want to pay for these things itself and prefers to have the extra $3 million to be able to buy rockets and build kidnapping tunnels. In the past, Hamas has confiscated donated medicines from NGOs and governments and sold them for a profit. The PA has balked at paying for medical equipment and medicine for Gaza as well. I didn't see any announcement on the ICRC webpage about this. Source: Elder of Ziyon click here“Fair Use For Educational or Discussion Purposes

It figures...the heck with the people, just give us money for rockets, bombs and more bombs, so we can kill, maim and plot against Israel. None of these nations surrounding Israel have any sort of commerce trade to export, they don't have any sort of agriculture or manufacturing businesses, all they have is home grown terrorist, the only jobs the palestinians who are trying to support their families can get are in Israel. It's either strap on a gun or go hungry.

I had no idea this was going on, I'm glad the Red Cross has suspended the aid. Isn't it unusual for a world agency to take a side, that benefits Israel.

It seems evident that the Palestinians do not help their own people. They rely on others to do this for them while some of them get rich and the rest goes to weapons. At least with the Red Cross they were getting help and now these people will get no help at all. I just hate the idea of the people at the bottom of the food chain left with no one they can count on. I will be praying for them.

I know what you mean Rieom. Doesn't the Palestinian Administration have any concern for the poor and sick among their people? They must be so corrupt.
