It's the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles tomorrow! Maybe a Rapture within the next 24-36 hours or so would be a good reason for all the nations of the earth to go up year after year to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles! (Zechariah 12) I could celebrate it forever, couldn't you?
Well, as they say over and over in the movie Angels in the Outfield, "It could happen!!!!"
(Kolleen is afraid I'll get depressed again if we're still here Friday. -- Naw!!! Been here before, done that before. We're safe!)

That's a wonderful thought. A long time ago I read Victor Buksbazen's book, The Feasts of Israel, and I think it was there I read about the Great Hallel on the 8th day of Tabernacles, night, and how everyone brought a light, and shouted Hallelujah, and that the brightness around Jerusalem could be seen for miles. It is also thrilling to think that this marks the end of the celebration of the harvest. We'll just keep watching.

Dan, my heart jumped when I read your title. So thank you! I'm still from the view that it will be a regular day but I'm certainly not opposed to this! And I know that you will be just fine if it doesn't happen. Everyday with Kolleen is a gift from the Lord!

That sounds wonderful. Marylou, I loved what you wrote in your post, about the ceremony of the Jews on the last night of the Feast of Tabernacles - that really would have been wondrous to see. I just sense we are so close to going home.

I draw encouragement from your excitement of a certain day Dan and hope to see it until we leave. I know you will be fine if it does not happen on this date with the knowledge that it will happen one of these days.
Loved the description of those holding lights Marylou. I can almost picture how special that had to be.
Liz: Very uplifting Liz about sensing how near we are.

I took a quick look online about the Illumination of the Temple, and learned that 4 great menorahs were lit and that they were several feet tall! And with all of the Jews gathered for Sukkot holding candles (or torches maybe also). While I checked that I noticed that each year the Jews were to go to Jerusalem for Passover, then for Pentecost, then for Tabernacles/Sukkot.
The men were to be there for the 3 feasts and I just realized, Those are the 3 feasts that we Christians think about:
1) the sacrifice of the Lamb, our covering for our sins
2) for Pentecost the day the believers in Jesus gathered and their numbers grew, the Holy Spirit came upon them and
3) the Tabernacles feast when the great reunion occurs -- reminds me of the Rapture, all of us, gathered together. The Feast of Tabernacles is to be celebrated in the Millennium or else there will be no rain and plague on those who don't go to Jerusalem for that feast.*
*Zechariah 14:18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Yeah, HisAmazingGrace, but I keep picking certain dates -- kinda' like they do in Israel from their trees. I've assumed the ones I've picked were ripe, they have all appeared to me to be, but I have not actually found a ripe one yet. Maybe a whole load of ripe ones will fall on all believers sometime in the near future... And of course you are right! Just still working on my hope chest, I guess.

And now it's another month...
"Round and round she goes... Where she stops, nobody knows..."
I have my entire fortune riding on red -- the blood of my Blessed Savior! Someday the ball will drop into the slot and SWOOOSH!!!
Again as I wrote above October 12, and say so often, "Praise be to His Holy Name!!!!!!!!!"

It is again to be the 8th day of Tabernacles / Sukkot tomorrow. I've been thinking, the Church will have victory as we go up, and all of the people holding their lights is like our holding hope for the Rapture. I've always been thrilled at the idea of the city shining so brightly in the night. The 8th day, the day of the Great Hallel ! Today, October 5, 2023, I'm doing some online searches for Tabernacles.
