Ebola Outbreak ''Unprecedented''
Prophecy - Signs
By J.L. Robb
'I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues—last, because with them God’s wrath is completed.'' ~ Revelation 15:1 NIV
Ebola is a particularly gruesome virus, highly contagious and death comes rather quickly due to many unpleasantries, though not quick enough for the unfortunate few who have contracted the disease. Until last month there had only been a thousand cases. Death is usually due to multiple organ failure.
According to emedtv.com:
“The history of Ebola began when the disease was first recognized in 1976. The name "Ebola" came from a river in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), in Africa, where the virus was first recognized. There have been 18 confirmed outbreaks of the disease since 1976.”
So far the disease has been confined to small sections of Africa. It hits suddenly, infection is through human contact; and it is highly contagious… then it suddenly fades away. At least that has been the history.
In July, 1976 the first case was noted. Ten days later the patient was dead. That first outbreak, before fading away, killed 431 people out of 602 cases, or 2/3 of those infected.
There are five known strains of Ebola virus, two of which are very deadly. The Zaire strain has a fatality rate of 90%. If this disease were to make it to an international airport, it would be a bad day at the O.K. Corral.
In addition to completely wiping out some African communities, several governments are trying to weaponize Ebola for further death and destruction. Ebola is often confused for other hemorrhagic diseases.
There is presently no drug or vaccine for Ebola, Marburg or other hemorrhagic viruses.
Guinea is a small country in West Africa with a population of about 10 million poor people, except the rulers, of course. Last month Guinea was hit by the Ebola virus. Two weeks ago a news article about the outbreak stated that 80 people had died. The total number of cases since 1976 had been about 1,000. Today, there are more than 100 deaths. That’s 10% of the total killed since 1976, and it’s happened in about a month. All this from an animal that most microscopes can’t see.
