I feel the Lord is coming soon and that is what he is telling me. Just about every prophecy site on the web is proclaiming God is coming soon. Most watchers are feeling the rapture is soon.
So, how long of a time does soon indicate to you? Days, weeks, months, etc.

I've decided that there is no way of defining the word "soon" when it's used in relation to God's timing. This after too many "it's just got to happen in the next day, week, month, year" moments (take your pick, I've used them all at various times in my life )

The rapture is always imminent, but I believe Jacob's trouble will begin soon, based on current events. By using the term 'soon' I would say within the next 2 years.

That's the crux, isn't it. The Rapture is always "Soon", but the fact that we can see the Tribulation events rapidly approaching indicates that the Rapture is sooner than we think. I'd be surprised if we're here at the end of the year. ...but then, I've been surprised before

I certainly hope you're right, Benjamin, but I've also been surprised before. Obviously, God's idea of soon and mine don't mean the same thing.

Part of me is hopeful that it could be much, much sooner than what I've stated up there, but another part of me wants to be careful.
If I'm honest, I've been expecting Him pretty much every day for a few years now. It's the first thing on my mind when I wake up, and the last thing on my mind before I go to sleep. I wonder "will tonight be the night? Will I wake up to this again, or to something altogether more incredible?".
I think Firstfruits would be an intruiging possibility: the day of Jesus' own resurrection - could that be the day that "the dead in Christ shall rise"? I'd love to think so. That would be this weekend, too - Sunday.

I've been expecting Him for the past 35 years...and I've always thought it could have been any day...I never thought I'd be seeing as much as were seeing today, so yes..I definitely think were going on overtime now...could be any minute, hour, day or week...Soon? I absolutely think it will be.

My idea of God's soon and our soon is very different. However, as we see everything unfolding so quickly now, we know the rapture is so close that we can almost reach out and touch it. I don't like date setting, but I don't think it is when I say I would have to agree with Benjamin that I would be surprised if we are still here next year.

This started because after reading a few headlines yesterday that were mocking God, including O having a gay priest close the prayer at the Easter Breakfast, I kept thinking soon is not soon enough. This got me to try to define soon for myself. When my kids and I were in the car after a long day and headed for home, soon would mean 5-10 minutes. In the context of work, soon might mean within the week. The word soon can have different meanings depending on the way it is used. Soon to me means imminent or at the very least, a few months.
I get inpatient at times especially as the news gets more disturbing. But I have felt the Lord has told me soon and I will just have to accept and live with that word whose meaning can be so different.

I totally agree with you all...and it all boils down to the fact that were just biding our time, occupying until He comes, watching & waiting and feeling the hour is close at hand. When I really stop and think of the reality of this event and that we are ACTUALLY going to experience it, always leaves me with a sense of excitement and awe....

You know what gets me? We know we are to spread the Gospel, but I don't find any who are willing to listen anymore. Is it just me or has anyone else having this experience? Either they get angry with you or are so set in their belief system, or mocking the rapture, have lost interest, etc. The only ones who I have any fellowship with and are listening are like-minded and we are all watchers. We keep eachother in check by looking at what the Word has to say, like on this board. Even though there may be areas where we disagree at times (as in opinions) and that's normal, the core essentials remain steadfast within us and we build upon them. I like hearing other watchers'/believers views on things....unless they're really out in left field.

There was a time that I could share what I believed, and expect some kind of conversation. These last days, though (and I use that phrase with intent), are characterised more and more by "pearls before swine" than anything else. There seems to be little to no dialogue, and the dialogue that does occur tends to be doctrinal or intellectual, rather than Spirit-filled. I think that's just an indicator of the times we live in. People's hearts are hard. It won't be until the Tribulation that they recognise the Lord - and by then, the recognition will be of His judgement, not His grace.

God showed me what my whining must sound like to him but with humor. Yesterday my daughter was on her way home from work and called home to let them know she was on her way. Her 4-yr-old daughter go on he phone and asked her when she was getting home. My daughter replied soon. As we all know, soon is hard to define. My daughter answered very soon. My gd asked what does very soon mean. I am sure you get the point. It hit me that God was teaching me a lesson and doing so with humor. I must sound like a whining child to him who he loves very much.

hahahahah...rieom, I think that's a hamster behind the Coke bottle. I know exactly what you mean about the headlines. I can barely even watch the local news anymore. I find myself giving long sighs. It becomes more sad each day and even more depraved. That seems to be the norm now.

That is a riot, it does look more like a hamster and I am a cat person. I am glad I gave you a laugh.
