Massive Volcanic Eruptions Wreaking Havoc On The World
As the world seems to hurdle from one crisis to another, today a 43-year market veteran warned King World News that massive volcanic eruptions are now wreaking havoc on the world. Jeffrey Saut, Chief Investment Strategist at Raymond James, also warned this trend is going to continue for many years, even though no one in the mainstream media is talking about this.
Eric King: “Jeffrey, we’ve seen skyrocketing food prices.”
Saut: “This has a lot to do with the weather. You’ve had a drought in Brazil, so the price of Brazilian coffee is up over 80% year-to-date. I know a farmer in California who used to produce a bunch of alfalfa. He’s about to lose his entire crop because he can’t get water....
“You also have a drought in Texas. One of my themes, Eric, has been the weird weather. The world is actually cooling, not warming. What’s causing this is the volcanic ash in the air. You’ve got more volcanic ash in the air than at any time in recorded history.
If you look at volcanic activity around the world you will see that another huge one just erupted over in Indonesia. With all of this volcanic ash, what’s happened is it’s caused the Hadley cell winds to shift toward the poles. The Hadley cell winds north of the equator spin counter-clockwise, and south of the equator they spin clockwise. These winds carry the hot equatorial wind up into the troposphere, where it moves toward the poles.
Normally these winds only move 30 degrees north of the equator and 30 degrees south. But with this huge input of volcanic ash, these winds have had a massive shift toward the poles. This is wreaking havoc with the weather patterns, and it’s here to stay. This is a very interesting situation, because not only does it bring water into play, but it also means a number of companies are going to have to tweak their business models for this extreme weather that, as I said, is here to stay for many years.
This all started 4 years ago with the volcanic eruption in Iceland, which shut down Heathrow Airport for 5 days. There is another volcano in Iceland called Grimsvotn which has been erupting ever since. But the volcanic activity around the world is massive. Even if the volcanic activity somehow abated right now, there is so much volcanic ash in the atmosphere that it’s going to affect our weather for the next 3 or 4 years. This is even if all volcanic activity stopped.
There has always been a polar vortex, but normally they don’t come down as far into the U.S. as they did this year. And the reason they came down so far into the U.S. is because of all this volcanic ash that’s in the atmosphere. And this is going to happen again this next winter. I recall reading in the Chicago Tribune that in the month of January the median temperature in Chicago was below that of the North Pole. We can expect more of this for years to come, and nobody in the mainstream media is even talking about this.”
