That's a little extreme. What did they expect those Christians to do, start a war?
They apparently claim that "the church had violated building codes." I guess it will become apparent if it is an anti-Christian campaign, if they demolish any more churches. It is sad, though.

My Chinese friend was reading a blog out of Hong Kong that showed pics of other churches in the area that had to either cover up, or remove crosses that were visible on the outside.
That's another part of the story that keeps changing. First it was building codes, now they're saying something about the land and permits and ... well, you get the idea.
The former president of China, Hu Jintao, was very open to the practice of Christianity in China, but this new guy, Xi Jinping, is a whole different animal. He apparently wants to take China back to "the bad old days", with anti-corruption squads and crackdowns on cultural practices (such as Christianity) that the government fears. Just the kind of guy China needs to fulfill their role in end-time prophecy.

Oh. That is another indicator, then.

Here's the latest: Government officials are upset that pictures of the demolition were taken and made public; they're now trying to find the person responsible for taking those pictures.

They want to find the person and most likely due him harm. They are embarrassed for their actions to be seen by the world. It does seem to indicate more church demolitions is in the future.

Yes, if they find him (and I pray they don't) they will either sentence him to a lifelong hard labor camp or throw him in prison for the rest of his life. Could it be possible that Xi Jinping contacted the ACLU for support? I say that tongue in cheek but it sound like something they would definitely support.

Wow, I never thought of that Shiloh, but you're right on the money with that observation.
