WND Former Pope warns of Vatican Alien AgendaFormer pope Benedict XVI spread consternation in the catholic world this morning as he claimed in a press conference rebroadcasted live on FM german catholic radio station, Radio Horeb, that a group of jesuits had infiltrated the Vatican and were pursuing what he called an “alien agenda”. The first pope to retire from his position in 598 years expressed his feelings of deception as “a sinister group of members of the Vatican” were pushing on for the search for extra-terrestrial life through their Lucifer 2 Large Binocular Telescope based at Vatican Observatory on Mt. Graham in Tucson, USA.
The Vatican made front news earlier this month when José Gabriel Funes, an Argentine Jesuit priest and astronomer, and the current director of the Vatican Observatory, sponsored a major conference in collaboration with NASA entitled The Search for Life Beyond the Solar System: Exoplanets, Biosignatures & Instruments and announced the purchase of a new 2 M$ lens for its Lucifer 2 Large Binocular Telescope.
“Just as there is a multiplicity of creatures on earth, there can be other beings, even intelligent, created by God. This is not in contrast with our faith because we can’t put limits on God’s creative freedom. Why can’t we speak of a ‘brother extraterrestrial’? It would still be part of creation” answered Vatican Observatory director, José Gabriel Funes, when asked about the role of extra-terrestrial life in the catholic faith.

That's an interesting article, Morningstar. My immediate thought upon reading the first paragraph was why the former Pope didn't pull the plug on that project while he was still Pope?

This "pope" was right up there with them on their acceptance of 'aliens'. Here's a quote from an article from 2010:

This whole thing is a mess.

This stuns me. I am wondering the same thing that Jim is. It would have been much more meaningful for Benedict to have mentioned this during his reign as pope.
I wonder if the Jesuits were too strong, and that's why Benedict stepped down, he just couldn't handle dealing with them on things like this?
Thanks for posting this Morningstar, this was quite a find.

I agree, Jim. He should have put a flame thrower on that one a long time ago. John, I remember reading that statement by him too. Maybe Elizabeth is right too but you would think if this is true, he wouldn't have promoted it when he was pope. He's gotta know his life is at stake. Anyone ever heard of "The Jesus Seed" project? Google that.

But did he really promote it? There were no direct quotes attributed to him, so maybe Elizabeth is onto something here regarding the Jesuits.

I don't believe any "pope" would be kept out of the loop in this, especially considering they own an observatory in the first place. That 2010 article even mentioned that that man was the curator of the pope's "meteorite collection" (why he even had that baffles me), and that the senior cardinals and the pope were kept up-to-date with the latest science stuff. Perhaps not "aliens" per se, but I still find it very hard to believe that he only found out about this now.

He had a meteorite collection? lolololol...sort of superior to a coin collection or a stamp collection, I suppose. He could sell them on Ebay if he's strapped for cash...although I highly doubt that. Here's an article I found, although it isn't the one I was looking for. No one suggested that the Pope didn't know about this program. What I suggested, and what Elizabeth was possibly suggesting, is that the program was bigger than the Pope. My guess is that he was afraid to mess with it while he was Pope, but now feels comfortable bringing it to light. It's hard to imagine that he was on board with it then, only to come out now with a statement referring to "a sinister group of members of the Vatican". He had to know about this "sinister group" 15 months ago, wouldn't you think?

Well, that's true and that's why I said maybe Elizabeth is right. The Jesuits are very powerful among the orders.

Why say it only now then? It's been over a year since he stepped down.

Someone should ask him that specific question. I'd love to hear the answer.

I think Benedict became afraid of the Jesuits during his term as pope. He knew of this space agenda, and in no way wanted it associated with his papal reign. The way to avoid this, was to resign. I don't think it is a coincidence that Francis himself, is a Jesuit.
It is interesting that Benedict is now speaking out about this space agenda issue. Perhaps he knows something is imminent, and wants to be remembered in the history books as being one of the good guys, one of the people who warned of potential danger.

It is curious that Francis is a Jesuit. But I'm still not convinced about this. Why can't I find anything on the main news websites either? Something as big as this would land on them pretty quickly.

Elizabeth, I agree completely with everything you said ... well stated.
What are you not convinced about, BrJohn? Could it be that Lt. Frank Drebbin told the MSM that there was nothing to this story?

LOL at the video, Jim. What I'm not convinced is that this pope just now randomly decided to come out with this. The fact that I can't find it on any major news source also makes me question whether this is just a move made up by someone online, and he didn't say any of this at all.
Just my thoughts on this.

I have to agree with you both on this. The Jesuits are a force to be reckoned with, if what I've read about them throughout the years. They have a pretty good stronghold in the Vatican, and are in some pretty high positions (Now they have a Pope who's a Jesuit). So I can see why Benedict didn't say too much when he was in that position, not only that, but he was not a strong leader.
